Sustain pedal won't turn off in Finale
I am working on a solo piano transcription. I often stop to play a part on my controller to help in the transcription process. However, if I use the sustain pedal, the effect stays engaged and I have to send a notes-off message to clear things up. If I touch the pedal again, it starts again. Only in...

Re: Trouble with Cross-Staff/Reverse Stem
Thanks, everyone. I tried the suggested ideas, but got the same weird results. As I'm on a tight deadline for a client, and most layout and spacing issues are set, I went ahead and used the note mover and a bunch of special tools to rig a visual solution. I inherited this project from another indivi...

Trouble with Cross-Staff/Reverse Stem
I need to move the voice 2 note in the first example down to bass clef. Fugue 16 m. 10 Orig..jpg Used Note Mover tool to do so, then reverse stem tool to fix stem location. This created "artifacts" around the beams that I can not seem to edit. Fugue 16 m. 10 Reverse Stem.jpg Is this a bug? Using Fin...

Worked perfectly and easily. Thanks to you both. Client will be very happy, as I had told him I wasn't sure it could be done.

Re: Shifting Staccato marks vertically within staff
Thanks so much Bill. Very helpful. I think you're onto something here (and I wasn't aware of this shortcut). However, it unlocked ALL the staccato marks for the entire 63 page score, moving tons of other markings where I didn't want them. Bummer. However, I WILL be able to use this solution in other...

Shifting Staccato marks vertically within staff
I have a client asking if there is a way to shift a staccato mark vertically slightly more away from a note. The note is treble C, so the staccato mark is in the "E" space. If I try to drag up, the dot immediately jumps above the staff, where I then have fine control over its position. Is there a wa...

Re: Resize Noteheads Plug-in and Accidentals
Thanks again everyone. The client finally opted not to increase notehead sizes after all. Much relieved here.

Re: Resize Noteheads Plug-in and Accidentals
Thanks, everyone! The JW Change plug-in was exactly what I needed. I'm also very happy to learn about these plug-ins, as I was not familiar with them yet. Awesome stuff!

Re: Resize Noteheads Plug-in and Accidentals
Just curious - what is the reason for resizing noteheads and not accidentals? If it's to make the music larger, it's better to resize the entire staff for parts, or the system size for scores. I have taken over a project from another editor, and I'm pretty new to this part of the work (though I hav...

Re: Resize Noteheads Plug-in and Accidentals
With Jari's JW Change plugin, try resizing the noteheads to 110%, then resizing the accidentals to 90%. Zuill P.S.: I suppose slightly less than 90% would be better. I guess you'll have to figure the math yourself. Thanks for the reply! I don't have that plug-in, but I was able to find his site thr...

Resize Noteheads Plug-in and Accidentals
Working on a large project for a client. 62-page document, and they have asked to increase notehead size by 10%. I used the Resize Notheads Plug-in, no problem, realizing that we would need to do some checking and adjusting for new collisions. However, I did not realize that resizing noteheads would...
