Re: Tie Endpoints: Vertically Offset if Pitch Changes
After using the slur instead of tie for a while, I've found myself switching back to tie . Reasons: 1. When assigning many syllables of a lyric, as I often do, using the option-click assignment, Finale skips over tied notes as desired, but not over slurred notes. So the choice of tie vs. slur become...

Tie Endpoints: Vertically Offset if Pitch Changes
When two tied notes are of a different pitch, I think the tie should be ramped (tilted) up or down to follow the change in pitch. I've seen ties in professionally engraved scores like this, and it helps my reading when I perform. But when I place a tie between two such notes in Finale, the two endpo...

Finale 26 seems OK in macOS 11.0 Big Sur
In case anyone is wondering, I've used Finale 26 on macOS 10.11 Big Sur (beta) for about 6 hours working time now and have not found any issues (well, I should say, no issues that were not also present in previous macOS versions  ) Even HyperScribe works. The crash which always occurred in Fina...

Re: What exactly is Spanish Finale on macOS?
To @motet: Yes, that is the reason. Part of the dialog is generated by macOS, and that part only depends on your language setting in macOS. * * * Well, against my better judgment, but succumbing to the $79 upgrade coupon, I bought the upgrade to Finale 26, from Spanish Finale. After my purchase, it ...

Re: What exactly is Spanish Finale on macOS?
I see what you mean, Michel. I was not aware of these other language versions. So for some reason MakeMusic chose to do the Spanish version in-house or, maybe with a tighter relationship than they have with IPE Music, Klemm, etc. It is true that if they add, say, a new control with new text in an up...

Re: What exactly is Spanish Finale on macOS?
Thank you, miker. Unfortunately, it looks as though you are correct. I just downloaded and installed both demos. The Spanish package is more megabytes, but it does not appear to include the English localization. When I launch it, the first two dialogs I see, asking for permission to access `Document...

What exactly is Spanish Finale on macOS?
Normal macOS apps support "localization". If I change my language in System Preferences from English to Spanish, and if an app I am using supports Spanish, then the next time I launch that app, its text will be in Spanish. There is just one .app, with one license, which can run in multiple languages...
