If I'm understanding correctly, those instructions are basically: 1) uninstall Finale 2) delete the Finale "X" folder in Program Files 3) delete the Finale "X" folder in AppData and 4) reboot

Just started getting this exam same error message, which automatically closes Finale (can't even get into any menus). Haven't tried all the steps the OP has outlined, but I guess I'll start with an uninstall/reinstall. This is happening with 2014.5, for me.

I'm running 2014.5, and keep getting this error when trying to open a Finale file. Sometimes restarting Windows makes this go away, but it keeps coming back and prevents me from using Finale. It doesn't have anything to do with actually converting old files - even opening up recently created or edit...
