I consulted Finale support They wanted me to change some things in the FINMIDI file, but when I opened it, I found nothing like what they were saying. However, I DID see "Focusrite" all over the place (I have a Focusrite Scarlett18i 20), so I turned off the Focusrite USB interface and started Finale...

I've abandoned the old 2014 template and have created a new one from scratch. The new one works fine and has no issues with meter changes at all, everything stays at the same tempo.
Out of curiosity, though, I'll take a look at both and see whether "Independent etc" has been selected in either one.

I appreciate the responses. I've never done a "clear MIDI data" before - it was never necessary in previous versions so it wasn't something I thought to do. I'll try that ASAP and let you know how it went. if that fails, I'll attach the file.
