Thanks, bakkumd. I purchased and installed TG Tools v3 and got the results exactly as you described. Can't figure out what to do about those 64th notes but at least most of the work is now being done automaticamente.
Cheers!

Re: Automatic beam breaking
The pattern doesn't always repeat. When it does then your suggestion with the edit filter is the way to go but I'm looking for a way to force Finale to break beams according to the key signature. Perhaps a plugin?

Automatic beam breaking
Measure 1 is the way Finale renders the rhythm according to the time signature. Then I have to manually break the beams to get what is shown in measure 2. Is there a way to do this automatically?
Thanks!

It's certainly faster than what I've been doing to change the input.

Quarter + 8th in Triplet
When entering triplets via Speedy Entry, the first note value entered after pressing <ctrl> 3 defines the type of triplet. That's fine when notating a triplet of 8th-notes and there are three 8ths or one 8th and one quarter but what if we want to enter a series of 8th-note triplets comprised of quar...

Re: Key stroke for up and down bow
Select the Articulation tool, press "u" on the keyboard, then click on a note and the upbow articulation appears. To get the downbow marking press "d". I believe this is the default setting.

Re: How to prevent "Save Changes" prompt
I'm on F26 on a Mac. When I open a Finale file and close it immediately, I get no message. Is that a bug? (tongue firmly in cheek...) LOL. That's the way it "should" be so perhaps this is a Mac-PC issue. A work-around (of sorts) is to save the file immediately after opening (CTRL-O followed by CTRL...

Re: How to prevent "Save Changes" prompt
Actually, there was a change made - the layout was updated "under the hood". You can turn off "Automatic Update Layout" in Preferences > Edit but that presents other problems. The only solution is to specify "Don't Save" when closing the file. I know, that's bad engineering, but hey, this is Finale...

Re: How to prevent "Save Changes" prompt
I'm afraid not. It's terrible. Indeed. Perhaps someone who knows programming could shed some light as to why the "save file" prompt cannot be bypassed when the file has not been changed. Maybe checking the file for changes would create an unwanted delay before closing so the default action is to pr...

How to prevent "Save Changes" prompt
Is there a way to prevent Finale from launching the "Save Changes" message box when no changes have been made to the file?
Thanks.

How to transfer v26 settings to v27
Took advantage of the summer sale, upgraded to v27 from v26, and I'm wondering if there's a painless way to transfer the program settings. I'm thinking something along the lines of copy/paste the Finale.ini file?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Batch export to pdf
When using Finale Script to batch print *.musx files to PDF, I need to press enter to confirm every filename before it is printed. Is there a way to bypass this step so that the current filename is used? In the printer setup, I selected "Microsoft Print to PDF". In the script file I substituted "pri...

Re: How to save measure number format
Looking back at my original post, I realize that I didn't phrase my query in the form of a question. Sorry about that. I would like to change the measure number settings of several files to those depicted in the screen shot. Is there a faster way to do this other than opening each file and changing ...

How to save measure number format
I've created a template with the desired measure number formatting for use with newly created files but I'd like to save these parameters - similar to a library - so that they may be imported to existing files?

Re: Force multi measure rests?
The measure have indeed to be empty. I don't see what you want to achieve. A multimeasure rest with 7 or 9 chords on top ? I don't want to display the chords over the multi measure but I don't want to delete them either because the instrument in question may have something to play in a subsequent v...

Force multi measure rests?
Is it possible to force a multi measure rest when the bars in question are not empty? Specifically I'm looking to have a multi measure rest for a part without deleting the chords in the "empty" bars.

Re: Stemless grace notes
Thanks, miker. I was hoping for something along the lines of <shift><;> to enter a stemless grace note but your suggestion of JW Change appears to be the next best thing. I'm thinking to enter all the grace note bends with stems and then in one swoop using the filters of the plugin remove the stems.

Stemless grace notes
When writing guitar parts I like to use "regular" grace notes to indicate a pull-off or hammer-on and stemless grace notes for bends. To create the latter I enter the note, make it a grace note, select the note, then use the Custom Stem Tool to get rid of the stem. Is there an easier way?

Sometimes when I click to insert an expression or articulation, the window appears minimized.
Thanks & Cheers!
Clicking on the window restores it to the normal position.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this behavior? Thanks & Cheers!

Re: Convert lyrics to measure-attached text blocks
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. As always, it is very much appreciated. The method zuill suggested worked well. My suggestion is to put a single pitch rhythm line matching the vocal rhythm line in an other layer on the Bass staff (no need for another staff that way, or for using the text to...

Convert lyrics to measure-attached text blocks
From a single-staff lead sheet containing the vocal line and chords, I added a staff and wrote the bass part. The bass part doesn't need the vocal part but it would be helpful to have the words along with the bass notes. I managed to do this by creating a staff style for the vocal part where everyth...
