Thanks, bakkumd. I purchased and installed TG Tools v3 and got the results exactly as you described. Can't figure out what to do about those 64th notes but at least most of the work is now being done automaticamente.

The pattern doesn't always repeat. When it does then your suggestion with the edit filter is the way to go but I'm looking for a way to force Finale to break beams according to the key signature. Perhaps a plugin?

Measure 1 is the way Finale renders the rhythm according to the time signature. Then I have to manually break the beams to get what is shown in measure 2. Is there a way to do this automatically?

Select the Articulation tool, press "u" on the keyboard, then click on a note and the upbow articulation appears. To get the downbow marking press "d". I believe this is the default setting.

Actually, there was a change made - the layout was updated "under the hood". You can turn off "Automatic Update Layout" in Preferences > Edit but that presents other problems. The only solution is to specify "Don't Save" when closing the file. I know, that's bad engineering, but hey, this is Finale...

Is it possible to force a multi measure rest when the bars in question are not empty? Specifically I'm looking to have a multi measure rest for a part without deleting the chords in the "empty" bars.

Thanks, miker. I was hoping for something along the lines of <shift><;> to enter a stemless grace note but your suggestion of JW Change appears to be the next best thing. I'm thinking to enter all the grace note bends with stems and then in one swoop using the filters of the plugin remove the stems.

When writing guitar parts I like to use "regular" grace notes to indicate a pull-off or hammer-on and stemless grace notes for bends. To create the latter I enter the note, make it a grace note, select the note, then use the Custom Stem Tool to get rid of the stem. Is there an easier way?

I'm not quite sure what you intend by sforzando for the quintuplet but perhaps this may be what you're looking for?
