Re: What is going on with Times and TNR in Finale?
A quick test: I created a Finale .mus file in Finale 2009 running on El Capitan, with some text blocks using Times, Athelas, Courier and Marion. When loaded into Finale 27 on Mojave, all of the fonts displayed correctly; but the font menu still described these fonts as 'missing'; and all the font s...

Re: rebar 5/4 into 2/2 with quintuplets?
hi well, yes it feels "in two" thats how I came to this conundrum. (this film cue is basically 71 bars of the above- with the violin doubling the bass later on.) Practice and readability aside, Im curious about the how a Finale-an might setup their workflow. 1st attempt was: tuple the 5in4 erase bea...

Re: rebar 5/4 into 2/2 with quintuplets?
hi
I ended up just reentering the notes into a new doc. But Im very curious on the workflow for this type of situation if anyone has an answer.
In this case Im getting turned around with the operation order to get from bars of 5/4 into bars of 2. A pencil and eraser sure looks good now ;0

rebar 5/4 into 2/2 with quintuplets?
HI I have an xml file in 5/4 (string trio) —everyone playing long tones with the cellist playing a quarter-note ostinato marking out the harmony. Screen Shot 2021-10-15 at 4.50.25 PM.jpg But listening to the reference track I think rescoring it in 2/2 with the cellist playing quintuplets over the 2 ...

Re: Copyright notice in Document Style
Hmm, I may have misunderstood the situation. By 'document style' do you mean your default doc (and/or a template file you've created) or a separate lib file? Mine has the ©symbol pre-filled too- but nothing changes unless you enter info into the field. if you ignore it, the file will use your origin...

Re: Keys in Transposed parts
HI yeah, that one falls in the unfortunate cracks —"no Fb for You!":D You can isolate the section of the transposed score (Staff Attributes/Select Independent Key) For the Fb, two options are... 1. use the 'keyless' option (in which you'll need to add all accidental thru that passage 2. Or the 'Non-...

Re: Copyright notice in Document Style
Hi
I have mine setup/saved in my default file. (score manager/copyright info)
Opening as a template, I get the option of 'filling in something different" or leave it blank—this opens the new doc with my 'saved' © info.

Re: Music spacing
HI Hector, yeah, I do that too. (I use the measure tool in conjunction with the Special Note Position tool). But its far from practical if you're doing a large batch of charts. Screen Shot 2021-10-09 at 11.27.14 PM.jpg this is always easier for me to "see" while playing: Screen Shot 2021-10-09 at 10...

Re: Music spacing
Necromancy: Arise dead thread! I have a similar situation as the OP. I realize the norm is to keep the 'beats aligned and stacked' for conductors score and such, yet for improvisatory music with slash notation and chord symbols, IMHO its much 'cleaner' (less distracting to the player's eye) to have...

'Clear' all of the areas of rests in a document.
Im working with someone sending mXML files. When creating MMrests from these imports I must always 'clear the entires' in the targeted empty measures to create a MMrest. Shouldn't these empty measures in the import already be "empty" —considering they contain only rests? If I must manually 'clear' a...

Re: Plugins: Perfect Layout, TGTools. others?
Thanks Motet! I just started looking thru the JWPins. Over the years Ive mainly worked with a set of templates/libraries I created back around 2004 (specific to my group/compositional needs) but always wanted something else from the font types/layout. Im curious to check out PL and their font sets t...

Re: HELP: Parts not holding format?
Hi MIchelp yes thats how you create a multimeasure rest. I understand that. What I'd like to do is keep things in the background and still create a MMRest: like cues/chords/text blocks. ah, I havent tried placing those items in another layer  Does anyone know if that 'll work? or another way? ...

Re: HELP: Parts not holding format?
Thanks guys, I think the 'Update Automatically' may be the ticket. but this leads me to another question; if you can't add MUltimeasure rests without a clearing items- you'd need to place them at the beginning of your layout process? I know this situation isn't the norm but if scoring long periods o...
