I cleared the measure with the <DEL> key. So it should have been completely empty. After that I was able to add just one layer, either layer 1, 2, 3 or 4… I am quite sure that the issue is caused by merging files with incomplete measures.

I think I found the root cause of the problem. The large file is the result of 150 source files, combined via the Score Merger. Some parts of the imorted score were a mess, since the measures of some source files were not complete (eg. 3/4 measure with just 1/4 note of a specific layer in it, not fi...

I am using the buttons in the left down corner to switch. Just like I do many years already.

I am able to switch. I even hear the note when I click him in the measure, but he simply does not appear...

I am tryling to add notes using two layers per staff, as you can see in the attachment. For most measures this works as usual, but there are a couple measures which don't allow mee to place more than one layer.
How can I fix this?
I am using Finale Pro 27.1.0.271,

The layer buttons in the down left corner of Finale are very small. For users with low vision this is quite a time consuming issue. In addition to this: the shortcuts consist of three keys, hardly to hit with one hand.
It would be great to have either larger buttons or easier xhortcuts.
