Hello all,
In my country almost everyone uses azerty. But I think most of the world uses qwerty if I'm not mistaken. I want to buy a new computer keyboard to use along my midi board. Is querty or any other type better for ease of use in finale or is it all the same?

Re: 16th triplets
thank you motet. I tried it but it didn't fix the problem. It crashed so much that I noticed a pattern though. Whenever I have sheet music as a pdf opened in adobe and switch the screen from finale to adobe then finale crashes. Unless I am not in speedy entry when switching programs. Then nothing go...

Re: Best keyboard
how do you guys who use a midi and a regular keyboard place your boards? I cannot find anything to hold the computer keyboard in the air so I can use the midi board underneath it.

Re: Placement of computer keyboard
The piano keyboard isn't attached to anything and it isn't sitting on a table. There is no table. It is a free-standing Kurzweil electric piano sitting on the ground. The rolling keyboard tray sits in front of it. But one could do the same thing by putting a piano keyboard on a desk or table. The w...

Best keyboard
As Miker pointed out to me recently, Finale works best with a keyboard. I have a laptop so am considering buying a computer keyboard to put on top of my midi keyboard so I can work with the keyboard and midi keyboard simultaneously. My question is: - are there people here that use only the computer ...

Re: Sizing issue
Thank you guys, I have selected automatic update layout in the preferences. It was unchecked (I think this is standard unchecked since I have never touched it).
I haven't tested it yet but it should fix the problem.
Thank you

Sizing issue
Dear all, Normally when I enter notes in Finale it resizes ( don't know if that's he word) everything automatically while I enter notes. This gives me enough space to enter every note I need. However as of today it doesn't work like that and my measures just stay the same size which makes it increas...

Re: Placement of computer keyboard
I put my keyboard on the kind of cart they serve you breakfast on in the hospital. It' s like a mobile keyboard tray. I can quickly change the height to be able to play the electric piano keyboard under it or over it, move it out of the way, and work either standing or sitting. Love it. mobile keyb...

Re: 16th triplets
Hey Motet, thanks for the tip. I have been using the speedy entry for the first time today and what is odd is that in the 30 min of using it finale has crashed thrice already. The screen freezes out of the blue and the mouse transforms to a loading symbol. The only solution I find is to restart the ...
Re: Lay out
Ah I see what happened. I wasn't on full screen and the white vertical line on the left of each palette wasn't showing. It is indeed very easy. Thank you so much for your advice.
Kind regards

Hello, I am terribly sorry if this problem was already addressed somewhere. I cannot seem to find the solution. So I accidentally rearranged I don't know what to call them. I'll show in the picture. These things( see photo) , don't know their names, used to be all in one horizontal line next to each...

Re: 16th triplets
Thank you Miker, I'm currently trying to learn as much as I can from Azerty input and from musical keyboard input so I don't waste your time. If I reach the ceiling however and am stuck I won't hesitate. Than you for your kind offer. I'm kind of baffled that there are problems that finale wishes to ...

Hahaha. Noted! Miker when you say move away from your computer does that entail stopping using Finale all together or do you mean plugging the midi keyboard in and inserting notes via playing ?

Re: 16th triplets
I don't think the caret makes a difference. It looks like with mouse entry you need to un check "Check for extra notes" in the Simple Entry Options to get that end-of-bar tuplet to work. Dear Motet. You did it!!!!! Thank you so much. You fixed it! Now I can continue doing my homework in good spirit...

Re: 16th triplets
Dear Miker,
I don't really understand what you mean by using simple entry garet? If you are asking whether or not I am in simple entry mode then the answer is yes.

And it adds only a 32th to the first measure while there should actually be a 16th rest. I showed it without delet...

Re: 16th triplets
I will show you a step by step of what I do. I tried deleting the rests as motet suggested but that didn't make a difference. As for the tips Miker just gave I'll try them after making this post. I am used to typing in everything with mouse so I would be disappointed if I couldn't type in this rhyth...

Re: 16th triplets
Now that I look at the original post, it looked like Huchbald entered a dotted 16th and then picked "three of the current duration in the space of two of the current duration" (either explicitly are by using the default), which of course won't work. There was another instance just a day or two ago,...
