Hello all,

In my country almost everyone uses azerty. But I think most of the world uses qwerty if I'm not mistaken. I want to buy a new computer keyboard to use along my midi board. Is querty or any other type better for ease of use in finale or is it all the same?

how do you guys who use a midi and a regular keyboard place your boards? I cannot find anything to hold the computer keyboard in the air so I can use the midi board underneath it.

Thank you guys, I have selected automatic update layout in the preferences. It was unchecked (I think this is standard unchecked since I have never touched it).

I haven't tested it yet but it should fix the problem.

Glad it's solved! It's a mystery why it would behave differently in this respect for mouse vs QWERTY entry. Yet another bug.

You might consider learning QWERTY (or AZERTY) entry--things will go much faster.

Is there a place one can report bugs?

Hahaha. Noted! Miker when you say move away from your computer does that entail stopping using Finale all together or do you mean plugging the midi keyboard in and inserting notes via playing ?

My settings are attached in this picture. I think I know what Miker means now with entry caret being checked.

I don't think the caret makes a difference. It looks like with mouse entry you need to un check "Check for extra notes" in the Simple Entry Options to get that end-of-bar tuplet to work. Dear Motet. I don't really understand what you mean by using simple entry garet? If you are asking whether or not I am in simple entry mode then the answer is yes.

pic 10: I try to add the last 16th note and finale won't allow me. According to finale the measure is full. pic 11: I insert a random note in the second measure to see what finale does. And it adds only a 32th to the first measure while there should actually be a 16th rest. I showed it without delet...

pic 7: First 16th of last 8th of the measure is in.
pic 8: the first 1/32th rest is in.
pic 9: now the 32th note that needs to follow

pic 4: I have inserted my first 16th dotted rest, a 1/32th note and a 16th note.
pic 5: I have inserted the second motive on the second 8th of the first beat.
pic 6: I do the same with the first 8th of the second beat.

I will show you a step by step of what I do. I tried deleting the rests as motet suggested but that didn't make a difference. As for the tips Miker just gave I'll try them after making this post. I am used to typing in everything with mouse so I would be disappointed if I couldn't type in this rhyth...
