Ok, but, what if I want to upgrade? How do I do that without paying? Could I do that with the 2008 version, or also from 2004? How's this work?

need advice

I'm feeling very lost with Finale 2008. I want to upgrade my 2004 version to it. I uninstalled 2004, but can reinstall again, since I have the CD. Is this possible to do? What is your recommendation? I don't want to pay again for a new version. I'm just feeling very lost over this situation. Please ...

I would move up to Finale 2008. Previous versions of Finale may give you problems, as it did with mine. You can still open your files in 2008. ;).

How long does the trial last? I know there is a limit until saving and printing becomes disabled.

dropdown menu to change instruments

This wish has come true for me. You can now use a drop down menu (in Finale 2008) and easily navigate to the instrument of your choice. Back then, it had to be typed in.

Check the compatibility requirements. I think it is compatible with Mac, but not sure on the version you are using.

Yeah, 2008 is the only I can see that says Vista compatible. Vista itself is still having issues, yes. I agree. Call up tech support for Finale and tell them your troubles. They should be able to help out. Or call up tech support for Vista. They should help too. I don't know the number for Vista's t...

What OS are you on? If Vista, then that might be your problem. The software may not be compatible with Vista. Installation may go fine, but then the software may encounter problems as such you mentioned.

Check in with tech support or call.

Look on the box that you have bought Finale 2003. If it says for Windows XP, then no. If it says Windows XP and beyond (something like that), then it should work.

Finale 2008 is Vista compatible.

Hi. I've actually figured it out. But yes, there wasn't anything on the blank. . I wanted to add the same staff systems I have had.

Thanks for your help. :D

No, I don't want to delete anything. I want to add to the blank page, some staves, or if I can, copy the previous page onto the blank.

blank page

I've inserted a blank page without any staves and all. Is it possible to copy my previous page with the staves and notes and put it into the blank page? If not, how do I add the same instruments I have in the previous page and staves to the blank page?

You're welcome. What I did to have a good sound, I connected it to my amp speakers. That way, you'll have a great sound! Instead of using your laptops' speakers. :D .

Hello Earl, I have also recently switched to laptop. For my case, I got one that I needed most for school stuff, and also to work w/Finale. Generally it runs well with everything. For you, I think the most important thing, since you are working on music, and Finale, you need a laptop w/a very good s...
