Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

No. They only offer a Sepia option which is more analogous to adjusting the Night Shift setting on a Mac or iOS device to be warmer. To get to the setting double tap your screen and in the icons that appear I believe it is the right-most icon on the lower row of icons. Not in front of my forScore de...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

Ben, Yes, both files were indeed 9" x 12". In trying to troubleshoot your protocol I discovered already in Automator a stock Action called "Watermark PDF Documents". I searched online for this and found a tutorial that took me about 3 minutes to configure and setup the script as a Quick Action and i...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

Hey Ben, Thanks for the info. I am trying to get this to work and have succeeded in downloading Python 3.12 and running the Terminal script and also creating the Quick Action that shows up in the right-click menu for a PDF in the Finder. I have a single page PDF on my desktop titled Test.pdf and it ...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

BuonTempi - I am not familiar with using Python but I will see if I can suss out how to run that script on my Mac. Seems like that would be easy to automate. Only drawback to my Keynote approach is you have to drag and drop each page individually from Preview onto the corresponding individual slide ...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

I've had some more time to mess with the Keynote approach and here is an example where I just utilized the actual Finale .png file that makes up the Finale "Score Paper" background texture. The path for that file is: Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 27/Resources/Manuscript Textures/Score...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

Hey Wess, I haven't processed your protocol yet for adding texture but I was catching up last night on Jason Loffredo's latest category update 'Grappling w/Graphics' on his Conquering Finale video series and in the third video for the installment he used Apple's Keynote for a demonstration of export...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

Wess, Thanks so much for that information. Wow, excellent engraving work and the textured backgrounds go beyond anything I could have imagined as possible. That really looks great and is very easy on the eyes and certainly fulfills my main objective of reducing the eye fatigue that comes with solid ...

Re: Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

Hey Buon and Cunard, Thanks for the replies. I did find that the free version of Acrobat Reader allows for changing the background color of a PDF through the Accessibility settings in the app. This has been pretty good for what I need to mimic the beige Score Paper background in Finale and helping t...

Export Manuscript Texture Setting to PDF????

I am creating Finale scores for use solely with forScore (no printing) and I'd like the PDF backgrounds to be the same as the Background Texture settings I have chosen in Finale preferences as the plain white PDF background is too glaring to my eyes on the iPad in forScore. Does anyone know if it is...

Re: Speedy Entry - MIDI Input Channel - Restrict to Ch. 1????

Thanks for sharing your setup Motet; definitely gives me some new ideas to consider for speeding up the workflow. My Bome setup its still working great and I am able to advance my LPD8 key command configuration significantly now since the Note On/Off messages are not reaching Speedy input. I posted ...

Re: Speedy Entry - MIDI Input Channel - Restrict to Ch. 1????

Wow. Thanks Motet! Your reply got me taking a deeper dive in my Bome setup and I got it to work to restrict the Note On/Off messages from my LPD8 into Finale. The basics are that I connected my keyboard's MIDI interface to the Bome MIDI Translator 1 Virtual Out in the Bome MIDI Router pane and then ...

Re: Speedy Entry - MIDI Input Channel - Restrict to Ch. 1????

Hey Motet. Yeah, I am using Bome as well (see my initial post). Bome doesn't really sit 'between' your MIDI controller and Finale in the sense it could intercept messages from your keyboard controller before they reach Finale or prevent any MIDI messages from reaching Finale. I did think of that ini...

Re: Speedy Entry - MIDI Input Channel - Restrict to Ch. 1????

Hey Michelp. Thanks for the reply. Yes, that was the first thing I tried and it did not prevent Speedy Entry from picking up notes played on any channel. I believe the MIDI Thru setting is strictly related to hearing a playback sound while inputting notes.

Re: Feature Request: Ability to Position Speedy Entry Crossbar to Desired Pitch w/Modifier Key and MIDI Note from Keyboa

Thanks for he reply Motet. I am aware of how to add/delete/modify notes once the Crossbar is positioned on the desired note. I am solely wishing there was a way to position the Crossbar by pressing a note on the MIDI keyboard. Would be so much faster than monkeying around with the up and down arrow ...

Feature Request: Ability to Position Speedy Entry Crossbar to Desired Pitch w/Modifier Key and MIDI Note from Keyboard

Maybe there is a way to do this already but when I am using Speedy Entry w/a MIDI keyboard I would like to be able to position the Crossbar via pressing a modifier key on the alpha keyboard and the desired pitch on my MIDI keyboard instead of having to use the Up and Down Arrow keys to move the Cros...

Speedy Entry - MIDI Input Channel - Restrict to Ch. 1????

Is it possible to restrict the MIDI channel that Finale 'listens' to when entering notes via Speedy entry w/a MIDI keyboard? I have a number of MIDI devices in my studio and I am using a set of percussion pads (Akai LPD8) that I am triggering Finale key commands with via Bome MIDI Translator. The pr...
