Publishing as a PDF?

Once a piece is finished and ready for the world, is it possible to save it as a PDF file? Or some other printed format that's pretty universally readable?

None of the "save as" options seem to include this, but there must be a way.

Can one use a straight line to notate a slide? The "glissando" function is what I want, but I need a straight line instead of a squiggly line. I've tried to change the shape using the "?" icon and following directions in the help guide, but it just gives me wierd symbols on the first note of the sli...
