In speedy entry you should be able to go to the note (let us just say it is an F and then arrow up to the interval you want and press ENTER (on the number keypad) to add that interval. Check out my tutorial for other speedy entry shortcuts: http://notationnation.com/index.php/videos/finale-tutorials...

What you just described is what I've been doing for years and is really the only way to create "realistic" sounding scores. Finale just doesn't have the same capabilities as Sonar or Digital Performer to playback. As much as they have tried with this Human Playback stuff you really need a graphic ed...

Hi, What you want to do is treat your new file like a "template". Open your midi file in Finale, finale will work and create a new score from your midi file with all the notes in it. What you are going to do is copy from the midi score into your score with your formatting and fonts and everything. L...

I may be wrong however I don't believe that kind of information is transmitted in midi data. I export from DP to Finale all the time and never get instrument sounds to stay the same. Are you using general midi sounds in your sequencer and then going to GM sounds in Finale? If you are I might see tha...

When you add the repeat to your score a dialog box will come up with specifications that you need to give it for playback. It will ask you if you want to bypass the repeat or play it 2 times, etc. If you use the easy repeats from the repeat menu it doesn't give you this option so you want to just do...

hello again. Ok I checked out that file you sent me and yeah, it doesn't look to promising. Usually with those .bak file you just change the extension from .bak to .mus and then finale will recognize the file and open it. That would always work for me. However when I do that with this file it still ...

Ouch! do you have auto save and backups turned on under finale program options? If so, Finale should have been auto saving your files all along. Go into the program options and see if you have that set up. If so, you should be able to see the directory that it is saving those auto save files or back...

I don't know if your problem really has to do with Finale. Sounds like it is an arrangement issue. I mean is the bass line really that important that each note needs to be notated? Or can you just use slash (time) marks? You could notate some key phrases that you want the bass player to do however i...

Video Support
I've been a faithful finale user for five years now and I would love to see video support for film scoring and writing to visuals.
