Re: Expression selection window Finale 27
You can't drag the bottom to enlarge it? Per my post, yes. But it reverts after the window is closed. I don't have the wherewithall to properly appreciate having to enlarge the window each time. At one time the window stayed how it was left the previous time. If there's a way to keep it enlarged I'...

Why doesn't it open larger? It's compressed and I have to click on the edge

Re: HELP! SOS! How to operate Garritan with Mod Wheel
Good to hear that. Is it a pain in the butt, yep. Is it worth the effort, not in my opinion. When JABB first came out I played with a lot of this stuff. I didn't like the workflow at all. I don't use JABB any longer. Good luck. Thank you for all your help. I'm going to digest this the best I can. O...

Re: HELP! SOS! How to operate Garritan with Mod Wheel
When using Finale, Human Playback takes the notation and makes it work with Garritan. (for the most part) All I been able to get is "for the most part". The mod wheel is CC# 1. When you put dynamics in your score, Finale will play your dynamics by using CC#1. (modwheel) So that means that you can't...

HELP! SOS! How to operate Garritan with Mod Wheel
I don't get it. I have JABB. I can't get the articulations and jazz techniques to work as they to in the samples. Meaning, I can't get them to sound any different than the old ones before JABB. I want to know how to work the plunger, falls, scoops, doits and others so they sound authentic. I've been...

Re: Mearsures are suddenly jammed together.
It looks like some systems got overlayed on one another. Normally Finale forbids this, but the coda plug-in unchecks the option that controls that so it can break systems where the coda starts yet leave it in place with a little gap between. I don't know how the systems got moved on top of one anot...

Mearsures are suddenly jammed together.
I'm not sure how this happened but I believed it happened after I used
the Create Coda System plug-in. At any rate, I've included a screen
shot and would like to know how to fix this. I've tried 'fit measures...'
and forcing measures breaks with selection tool.

Re: Accidentals On Chord Symbols
… I mentioned that the Jazz, Broadway & Copyists automatically change the size of the b or #. I wonder why Maestro doesn't? Unfortunately I can not find the place where you mentioned that. (Perhaps it has been deleted?) Hence I have not read about the circumstances where “Jazz, Broadway & Copyist a...

The accidental I am talking about is the one associated with the root : C#, Db, etc... Select Alteration and click on Set Font. alteration.jpeg Thank you for clearing that up. It works! Re: Enlarge Sharps and Flats
On a band template the accidentals in the chord symbols are the same size as the key signature ones. None of the things mentioned in this thread fix this issue. If anyone has other suggestions it would be welcome. In Jazz Font the sharps and flats increase with the size of the text (or whatever it'...

Re: Studio Orchesta Template - the LARGE 4/4 time signature
... P.S.: Well, an unfortunate side effect of using the Staff Style is that, if a staff is hidden at the start of a system, and the time signature changes there as well, the cautionary time change will still show on the previous system for the staff which still shows there. That's a mess. I guess t...

and removed?
So far searching the archives and the online manual has produced nothing.

Re: Composing in Finale....Is there a more satisfying feelin
Just to be clear: Finale is a tool for notating music, right? Not composing, notating. Not true. That's like saying a piano is just furniture. It's as much a tool for composing as a pencil and paper. Anything that helps with composing, even a lawn mower, is a tool for composing. One of the best com...

Re: Acoustic Guitar Sustain
I'm lacking expert advice too, but I would try the Pedal and Pedal Up articulations (Ped. and *). These are meant for piano, but the idea is the same–getting a sustain and toggling it off. You can hide them so they don't print out. Human playback should add these effects. May be worth a try. N. An ...
