Guitar TAB for Lefties
I have a left-handed student who is unwilling to adapt to reading guitar TAB as a rightie and I'm wondering if there is a way in Finale (v.27) where I can reverse the strings on the guitar TAB so the notes on the first string will flip to the sixth string, the fifth to the second, etc. so the TAB wo...

Re: Disabled Features
I still don't know what happened here but I updated to the new version and all is good. I spoke with tech support and he assured me that even if I had not updated I should have full access to the version I had paid for even after tech support ended.

Disabled Features
I have been a Finale customer since 2007. I received notice recently that my version, V26, will no longer be supported as of December. I don't need any new features. I created a document and suddenly am unable to edit text. A quirk? No. I have two copies and I can't edit text on BOTH COPIES!!! I kno...

Triplets and Eighth Notes in 9/8
How do I designate two eighth notes over the span of time of a dotted quarter note? Reference Debussy's "Clare de Lune," first few measures. The piece is in 9/8 - third measure - a three eighth note cluster followed by two - two eighth note pairs.

Re: Finale 27 ludicrously slow to start
Here is the solution to the LUDICROUSLY slow to start. I got these instructions from Finale: When you launch Finale, the program does a scan of all the available audio drivers on your system. We can sometimes shorten this process by telling Finale not to scan for all the drivers. Please follow these...

Re: Changes in Guitar TAB v26?
That's not what my friend printed. He will scan it and send it to me and I will post it. As for the mistake in bar 18, I got frustrated and left it unfinished. But my real question isn't about this song...it's about setting up Finale with default settings (if I can do that) so I won't have problems ...

Changes in Guitar TAB v26?
I have been using Finale since 2007 and this new version is driving me to the nut house. I know there are issues with tuning, especially that nasty "G" chord with open strings. Whoever programed Finale way back when ... are these problems due to the coder not programming TAB to proper standard tunin...

Re: Sinple Entry Guitar TAB
Thanks. I am not able to check this out yet but I hope that code you gave me does not have to be applied for each note entry! I'll check it out later. And thanks again for getting back to me. The process was very simple in the earlier version of Finale.

Sinple Entry Guitar TAB
I just switched to v26, Windows 10. While entering notes in single guitar TAB, simple entry, I am unable to use the numeral pad to change the note value. It works while using standard notation. Is there a setting I can change so I can use the numeral pad to change note values when I am in single TAB...

Re: Finicky Triplet Tool
New Problem with Triplets. I will attach an image to illustrate the problem. I'm having some issues with triplet brackets on the guitar TAB line. See the attached image. I entered the notes in musical notation and dragged down to create the TAB. How can I clean up the mess with the triplet brackets ...

Re: Finicky Triplet Tool
I have been using simple note entry...but I didn't have issues when I tried speedy entry. Hmmm..looks like I'll be changing my method. I have had problems with triplets for a long time. Sometimes when adding an extra stacked note to a triplet note, it switches off the triplet mode.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Finicky Triplet Tool
Finale 26 - Windows 10. I'm doing battle with the triplet tool. I'm working on regular manuscript with guitar TAB (I work in notation and drag down to create TAB) in the second voice and want to start an eighth note triplet with an eighth note rest and Finale changes the triplet to standard eighth n...

Re: Playback Issues After Updating to Finale 26
Noting on this? My work is now at a standstill. I don't know why the new version of Finale doesn't recognize my Aria Player. As I stated, Aria Player works as a stand alone app and as a VST in a DAW. As soon as I enter my first note in a measure, a pop-up says: Would you like Finale to reassign all ...

Playback Issues After Updating to Finale 26
I just purchased an upgrade from Finale 2014 to the current version. Windows 10. I ran into some issues - I have no playback sound - and have a tech ticket in with MakeMusic - but - they said the wait for a response might be up to two weeks - and all my work is on hold. I do music production with Cu...

Re: Aligning Guitar TAB
I suspect part of the problem for me is when I'm working on a score I tend to work in both directions, writing out something in regular notation and then dragging down to make TAB, and versa visa. I don't see that note position tool. This is an older version of Finale (2014.5) I was able to do as yo...

Aligning Guitar TAB
Finale 2014 Windows 10
I am using both music notation and guitar TAB. I have a chord with staggered notes and when I drag it down to create TAB, the TAB is misaligned. Is there a trick to straighten it?
Thanks.

Adjusting Velocity on Playback
Finale 2014. Windows
I am exporting a score as midi to my DAW and I'm noticing that the velocity seems to be random. I'd like to set it to a constant level and make all the adjustments in the DAW. Is there any way I can stabilize the velocity to one level before I export? Thank you

Mouse Behavior Changed Recently
I noticed recently a drastic change in performance with my mouse in Finale. (I have an old version, 2014.) My mouse wheel usually scrolls the page up and down but if I do it rapidly, it switches to zooming and magnifies the page a great deal. Anybody else? I've noticed other related general problems...

Re: Windows 10 - Sound Too Low in Playback
Heading in a different direction with this thread...I recently found I can export a finale file (export > midi) right into a DAW (I'm using Studio One) and all the notes are good but the sound levels are all over the map. However I can mix it in the DAW. It's pretty cool.
