ranobs, is your sound problem a lack of enough sound? i use 2008 latest version also and have a g5 Mac Pro Quad with supposedly very good stuff, and i and anyone who listen to the music have to have the volume levels way up, and this is true also for me during playback within finale. i have asked he...

well, the file merger is definitely an easier procedure than copy paste. the only problem it had was it copied the piano base clef not only to the first file base clef but to the first file treble clef as well, meaning the treble clef in file 2 did not merge to file 1. that COULD be due to the fact ...

thank you peter for your reply
yyes, i have the finale2008a update. no, i did not know about file merger. i would assume its purpose is to do what i was doing with copyand paste right??
i think i will try it on a couple of test files.

not able to do muted horns

have finale2008 with the included gpo. nothing works re muted horns - and the garritan selection does not include any KS french horn. it would seem that muted capability is not in the gpo coming with finale and that i will need to purchase the complete gpo and install that for muted ability. anyone ...

after talking to the finale people in MN (i guess) they suggested we go to their site and download the .pdf of the user manual - since it is not on the dvd sent to us. one can see the manual on their site but it does not download to the desktop or anything like that, so we used a text editor in the ...

Importing a Finale AIFF file into iTunes

How is it done?

Once done, how is it converted to MP3 format?

Or. . . do I need another piece of software to do this operation?

using different channels for rightvs left hand on piano

i've asked about this before and Peter - your genius brain had answers. this is a little different. due to wanting different sound dynamics in each hand on the piano - when i was using the finale demo, Peter said i could do that by adding another instrument - the same piano in fact and choosing a di...

finished a short little piano piece of mine. have it on file as a notation file. but, i also would like to save it as a sound file. someone on the forum told me long ago before i had the software that sound files can be saved as either .aiff or .mp3. mp3 would be perfect for iTunes and for downloadi...

have installed finale2008 from a dvd onto a new MAC Pro Quad with 9 GB in RAM and 2.5 terabytes of space that involves a RAID. the quad is empty except for the MAC stuff - tiger, itunes, safari, dashboard, and the DSL. because i am so new to finale, i decided to look at the user manual - and clicked...

score considerations

ay, i hope i can be clear -- my work for viola and orquesta will need a reduction of the accompaniment orquestal into a piano part so that - after learning the viola part - the violist will not need to hire the concertgebeouw orquesta to practice with. so, i wrote the piano reduction even before doi...

tempo question - kinda different

i didn't include this in the other topic - because it's more on what you can put in an expression. i was looking at the northernsounds.com site in a forum of people that have put up some of their work where one can listen to the mp3 file or look at the score file. this guy there has a score with met...

MORE tempo change discussion/questions

so, the order of power is tempo tool, expression tool, playback controls. i was going to ask if one could not give a metronome marking at the creation of the piece and apply the markings as needed oneself - beginning and elsewhere - but finale insisted i supply one right off the bat - so eso es eso ...
