Whenever I specify a pickup measure, The end measure is supposed to be incomplete. So I usually have an extra beat at the end of the piece. If the time signature is 4/4, and the pickup measure is 1 beat, how can the make the end measure 3 beats. I usually just keep it at 4 beats then hide the rest. ...
