After a substantial update of Windows 10 the audiio engine failed to load and the restart didn't help.
Also the Knowledgde Daabase had no solution.

From the application Finale2012C clicking Help I'm getting an empty screen.

FInale installed on Notebook Windows 8, once from CD and once from download (WinFull).
The finale.exe installation went flawless - some sound files were missing, tho.

When invoking existing *.mus files the stems are shifted from the noteheads by about 12 points

What went wrong?

Does Finale have a human yel or scream?

Could a Sibelius source make use of the Finale ARIA-player?
Or can we migrate Sibelius source to Finale, in order to make proper use of ARIA?
Or, what would be sensible to get a decent sampling from Sibelius source?

Mike, it might be "leakage" from my USB-port. When using the desktop speaker (power from the wall socket) it seems ok, while using head phones it produces those problems. I already changed the power unit, because I had even frequently crashes. Also might be a combination of problems ... I'll try oth...

Peter, Mike, I have problems with playback from scores. There's a lot of noise, it's skipping notes from time to time. It seems to be in the scores on the same places, but in fact, it's everywhere. Playing from *.wav and *.mp3 files don't give any problems - i.e. the Export to Audio File is fine. I ...

I guess for my use option 2 is most practical; it doesn't effect the view of the score, and maybe for the print I can hide the text.

I guess the most easy is using the text editor, and just put the instrument indication at the first system of a section. Most freedom with least effort.

Peter, there's still a problem with assigning the group and staff attributes. Inspite of "begin a new system" they seem to reign over the entire piece.
Is there a solution to that?

I couldn't find the page for upgrades from Allegro to Finale.

In Allegro there's sound with every note while editing. Can we put that
off? (I can switch off my boxes, but I have those on for other reasons).

1. Do we have an n-up printing facility in Allegro
2. Do we have a multiple page export to TIFF facility, or do we need to
&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsphandle page by page?

It's working tho, but measure #1 shows the 1/4 time signature, and I don't like it that much (i'm working with a ten years old version - it might be "slightly" different).

Peter, the solution #1 seems most attractive to me - it's invisible. In the Time Signature solution the altered time signature remains visible e.g. 1/4 in the first measure and 4/4 as from the 2nd measure through the end of the score. It's a little bit odd view on the screen and in the printed score...
