Re: Can't get dynamic shortcuts to work on french laptop

You can also get an extended keyboard for the Mac (with numeric keypad) to plug into your laptop when you are at home.
P.S.: There are numeric keypad apps for the iPhone (Numpad has a special profile for Finale)

Re: Swapping parts

Undo functions for me. I have made the test in 26.3.1 and 27.4.1 (via the JW Tools menu) on my Mac, in the score (and as a result, in the parts).
Check your preferences and see if the Undo function is activated.
Otherwise, reapply "swap" on the same regions, and it will revert to the previous state.

Re: Swapping parts

The plug-in JW Staff Polyphony has a Staves -> Swap function that would do it in the score.

Re: Repeat for specific part

I agree that it is confusing (in rehearsal), altogether not a very good idea. Less money spent on paper, more money on time lost.

Re: Repeat for specific part

You could use a staff style (part only) to hide the repeated sections, then add expressions to enter "graphical" repeats (part only). And another expression (part only) to indicate play X times. Still, there are a few problems : hidden measure numbers and rehearsal marks. You can also find a way to ...

Re: Lyrics: Delete red line

Something strange is happening here, but I was able to fix it.
Lyrics menu -> Edit Word Extensions selected.
Drag the handle on the right side of the red line to the right to extend it.
You will see 2 handles. Select the left one first and use Delete; then delete the right one.

Re: Change existing material from 4/4 to 6/8?

I would do in two steps :
1) convert the 4/4 into 12/8
2) change the 12/8 into 6/8.

For the first operation, the plug-in JW Meter and Rhythm would help.

Your profile doesn't specify which version of MacOs you have.
Could this be the problem :

Chord Kerner v 2.3 (Mac) for RGP Lua

Michael McClennan just released the version 2.3 of his script Chord Kerner (Mac only at this stage) for RGP Lua.
To manage chord suffixes better than the Finale tool.
Download : https://michaelmcclennan.com/macros/finale-lua-scripts/
Thank you, Michael !

Try this .musx file, it seems to be ok. Imported from MusicXML into Finale 26 and saved.

In the empty copy, delete many measures.
P.S. : the size of the file looks pretty big for an empty file.

Re: noteheads in different layers

Another way : select layer 4, Document -> Show active layer only, then Utilities -> Change -> Noteheads.

In JW Change, you can also select "Custom Shape" and find a suitable notehead.

The JW Change plug-in (under JW Tools) can do it. Noteheads -> Shape + select the X notehead shape and the appropriate layer.

Re: Plug in question

Another useful tool for repeated measures (or even non identical measures, or drum parts) is the JW Pattern plug-in -> Sequences -> Numbered Measures. A dedicated expression category can be created to define font, size, position of the number. A "profile" can be created to attach the numbers to scor...

Re: slashes used as repeat symbols

It is a staff style (Staff tool -> Apply Staff Style To -> Score and Parts -> Slash Notation) that you will apply to the partial region of the measure. The staff style being purely graphic, to hear the audio, you first need to copy the figure and paste it to the repeated spots. Then select the regio...

Re: Speedy Entry - MIDI Input Channel - Restrict to Ch. 1????

Have you tried Midi/Audio -> Device Setup -> Midi Thru -> instead of the usual "Smart" button, try Fixed Channel : 1. Not tested.
Otherwise, your midi interface maybe set to send on a unique channel temporarily.

Re: Slash Cords - Colliding

Chord Kerner v.2 (a great script for RGP Lua, Mac only for the moment) works fine with RGP Lua 0.67. The later versions have problems.
A good reason to keep several versions of RGP Lua, in separate sub-folders of the plug-in folder.

Re: Slash Cords - Colliding

In your music, an oblique slash would be more adapted to conventions (alternate Bass defined "as Subtext") which usually means a chord on top of a bass note, not 2 superimposed chords (a horizontal line) This would solve your issue. To do it globally (also for the A-7 over D) select your whole piece...

Re: Inserting flat symbol into Score Manager/"Score Name" Insert with Raleway font

On the Mac (where Ctrl is often replaced by the Cmd key), it is Cmd+Shift + F and S.
In the part name (Manage Parts -> Edit Part Name), the characters don't display the musical symbol, but they are fine on the part.
