Re: "reverse" grupetto or turn

Hi Peter,
Indeed, the symbol I need is a flipped version of the original one.
You are assuming right: I use the Maestro font, I therefore want a "Maestro" looking font and not another set.
I will take a look at the attached file.
Thanks for your help.

"reverse" grupetto or turn

Hello, I know how to notate a grupetto. But what I need now is what I would call a "reverse grupetto". The normal symbol for a grupetto (the musical ornament that consists of upper second, main note, lower second and then main note) looks like a capital S turned 90 degrees counterclockwise. The reve...

Re: Tempo changes

Hi,
@oldmkvi: I don't want these tempo marks showing on every staff so that is't really an option.
@motet: That is precisely the category (showing on the top staff) I use.
Greetings, Hans

Tempo changes

Hi everyone, I just discovered a strange behaviour in a longer piece voor large windband with some tempo changes. I entered the tempo changes using the expression tool with the playback effect set. When I play back the piece with all staves showing all goes well. When I play back with a staff set sh...

Re: template

Hi all you out there, @ N Grossingink: While in the process of following your suggestion I discovered what went wrong. I saved the original file with a Staff-set showing and not alle staves. After saving the file as XML, I also saved it again as a normal musx file but now with all files showing. Whe...

template

Hi there, After reading a blogpost about using "old" templates I decided to create new ones. I use Finale 25.2 on a Mac with OSX El Capitan (10.11.6) and with 8 Gb internal memory. I started with the Maestro Default Font file that comes with Finale 25 and created 4 templates until now. All work well...

Re: Spacing after applying two bar repeats

Hi Peter,

You are quite right. It's the last staff with 8ths notes that gets the staff style applied that causes the strange behaviour. De-selecting hidden notes in the spacing options solves this for now but as I said in a reply in the makemusic forum I would consider this a bug.

Re: Spacing after applying two bar repeats

Hi Peter, There are no real hidden notes in the measures that act strange (except for the ones created by the two bar repeats). But when I de-select hidden notes in the music spacing options then all goes well. What strikes me as odd is that all goes well with the spacing (also with hidden notes sel...

Spacing after applying two bar repeats

Hey there, I am working on an arrangement for windband of a piece by Albeniz. I have a question regarding the spacing after applying two bar repeats and wanted to attach a sample file. But when I try to do that I get the message: "The extension musx is not allowed". How can I send files now? In any ...

Re: two files open

Hi Peter,
The "workaround" that you suggested is indeed what I normally do.
Because of that workaround this is a problem that I can live with.
I normally work in scroll view. Only when I work on the layout of the printed pages I switch to page view.

two files open

I encounterd the following situation. I opened 2 files to work on. When I minimized one of them the other one started behaving odd. I could hardly work in it. When I for instance selected a measure the "selection box" only appeared after a page down and a page up. Also when I entered a forward repea...

Re: Score manager

Hi Peter, I posted on the MakeMusic forum and within a day I had succes. The file you need to change is: CAMB2010.soundmap. This is a XML file and therefore easy to change (make a backup anyway). I preferred for example "Flugel group 3". What I had to do is locate Flugel group 3 and move that line o...

Score manager

Finale 2014.5 / Mac Since a couple of months I work with Garritan Concert and Marching band 2 and are now in the process of updating my templates (templates that I carried over through a couple of versions of Finale). In the score manager I found how to use the instrument where it now says "unknown"...

Hi Florio,

When you select your time signature you shouldn't select 12/8 but 4/dotted4, if you get what I mean. This also works with 6/8 and 9/8 by the way.
