Re: Reverse beam issue
Just as a guess: it looks like you started the cross-staff in the top, and dragged notes to the bottom. What happens if you start in the bottom, and drag the cross-staff notes up?

That’s an issue with Macs only, I believe. It’s been around since F26, if I recall correctly.
No known fix, I’m afraid.

Re: Is there a better way to handle enharmonic re-writing?
I don’t think so. If you want finer control, you may just have to do it on a measure-by-measure, or at least a section-by-section basis. Or maybe do them all, and then step through and fix where needed.

You can certainly update both. Nobody can guarantee you won't have any crashes, but there aren't any long standing issues that I know about.
You might also want to update your signature, since it shows you running F26 on Windows.

Re: Db note to C#
What's the time signature? You seem to have 3/4 and 4/4 in the top staff, and 3/4 in the bottom.
Count it up. You have 3 beats in layer two, in both staves. but if you count the layer one notes you come up with 4 beats. Cross-staffing them doesn't change anything, it's still 4 beats.

Re: Quarters and rests in triplets of half-notes
There are a lot of things that could be fixed. I'm not holding my breath for any of them. But I think it doesn't matter. If you enter the first note with the mouse, go through the ALT-9, OK, you get what you show. But if you tap RETURN at that point, the carat appears, and you can enter from there w...

Re: Quarters and rests in triplets of half-notes
Worked fine for me. The sequence in Simple, using the numberpad and QWERTY keyboard: 5, pitch, OPT-9 (ALT-9 on /windows.) Set 3 half notes in space of 2 half notes. OK 0 (zero) pitch 0 pitch 0 No backing up, no deletions, no Ëxtra Note setting. As I've mentioned before, some tuplets push a couple of...

Yes, that’s the font it showed. It’s a paid font, and I don’t need it, so I’ll pass on this one.

Re: Music spacing problem
Your file opened with an incorrect font(s). Even after changing the font to Maestro, things were odd. So I can't offer much hope, except to say that maybe you should reduce the number of measures per line.

Make copies, and edit them individually. You’ll need a way to keep them straight, so maybe number or letter them,
You may find it easiest (I did, at least) to use the Mac keyboard shortcut setup, to avoid conflicting with other metatools.

Deauthorize Finale, uninstall, reboot, and reinstall. If it works properly, reinstall the plugins a few at a time (although I doubt that’s the provlem.)

In Simple entry, enter the first note, tap ALT-9 on your numberpad, set the numbers as 5, 16ths in the space of 4, sixteenths. OK. When you return to the score, enter the additional notes.
If you have a lot of these, check Set as Default. Then, enter the first note and tap just the 9.

Re: eighth note triplet with quarter note as second note
Dan, I think the step you are missing is when you are pressing the 9 key. The default setup for tuplets is 3 (use current) in the space of 2 (use current.) So when you enter the quarter note and the tap the 9, Finale thinks you are creating a quarter note triplet. So, enter your quarter note, and ta...

Yep, no change. It jammed up one measure, but a simple Music Spacing took care of it.

Re: How does we double note values in a passage?
Burt, I don't understand. If you want to double the note durations, you have to rebar, or you have too many notes in a measure. I selected 2 measures of a score I'm working with, which contain eights, dotted quarters, dotted eights, sixteenths, quarters, and half notes: pretty much everything. I wen...

I’m looking for stomps, claps, and snaps. Does anyone know where to look?
