Re: fingering unstable

A couple of OT suggestions regarding the fingering: 1. Better to use the Maestro font numbers at 12 pt. for your fingering rather than Times. They are more easily seen. 2. Use a elision mark (small slur) between the numbers to show a change of finger on a held note. Or a hyphen. You will find an eli...

Re: Banned from MakeMusic forum

It just happened to me after they said it was fixed. i was able to get in again, but got the banned message again when I tried to post a report. Maybe it is beginning of the death throes of MakeMusic forum. :? Seriously, I am liking it more and more over here. I hope more MM forum members join in.

Re: Finale Makeover: Introduction

Comments: 1. I use a Mac so the apparent lack of floating palettes presents issues for me. I rarely use the palettes now actively (see 3.) but I want them where I want them, how I want them, when I want them. 2. Your light gray looks is exactly what I have now in Finale 2014.5. Has that changed in F...

Re: Staff tool glitch?

Mike, this is probably pie-in-the sky, but I need a text tool that has the basic capabilities of a page layout program; kerning and hyphenation, for example. And there appears to be a new problem with the tool: when I try adjust the margins of a text block in 2014.5 I can't see the margin moving; it...

Re: Staff tool glitch?

I think I just found the answer to my problem. I have large text blocks at the bottom of each page. When I reduce the size of the text blocks, the problem goes away. Apparently the text blocks eat up a lot of memory or something, at least on my setup, which seems very strange, but I did notice that ...

Staff tool glitch?

When I get to page 5 of my piano score and try to adjust the distance between the staves of each system with the staff tool, all the music disappears when I click and hold on any staff handle, leaving only the staves and the distance indicators behind. When I let go, the music reappears. This does n...

Re: problems trying to beam this rhythm

Enter all the note values exactly as you have them in your one 8/4 bar letting Finale do what ever it likes with the beaming. Then click on the measure with the Speedy Entry Tool and join and break the beams as you wish using the / key. If two notes are beamed and you want to break it, position the ...

Re: ...Rediculuos "first wish" ...

RV, so you would like a new category on this website under Finale Discussion called "Finale Makeover" or something like that? And under that one could start a separate thread about every aspect of Finale that one feels needs improvement? If so, it's a great idea, but maybe you could still do that un...

Hope I didn't sound alarmist. There was a serious problem using 25.2 on a MacPro that has now been solved with workarounds.

Re: Latewncy in Hyperscribe

However, the general advice for people using HyperScribe is "Don't". I can be much faster and more accurate using Simple Entry, with or without a MIDI keyboard. I disagree. As a keyboard player, I can input much faster with Hyperscribe than any other method except scanning, which I also recommend h...

Re: fingering

This is quite a late reply, Musicus, but maybe it will help you or someone else, and it certainly helps me because I am practicing using this site for the first time in a very long time! The problem is that you are attaching the number 1 (articulation) to the layer 1 16th-rest rather than the layer ...
