Re: Versioning software

It works absolutely great under Win 10. All saved (or autosaved) documents are automatically backed up. A very good tool if something goes wrong, or you want to use a version that you cannot undo.

Versioning software

Friends, I have used Chrono Sync on Mac to make versioning of documents. It works good when used together with autosave, since it creates every new version of each autosave. Is there any equivalend on Windows? I remember I used one for a long time ago but I can't find it anymore. It was a free tool....

Re: M.M.

Agree with David.

In my opinion: music notation is the best when the "notational language" describes the complete music idea with fewest possible information.

Both "to little" or "to much" information is bad.

Wonderful, that worked well, thank you again!
I missed that setting, and spent two hours trying to fix it.
Better to wait for a friend to help! :D

motet, thank you once again.

Now I have a question.
How to permanently add a new page size to CutePDF?

Wonderful, thank you David!

The question is why it is different on Mac and Win.

Re: Shortcut to move one staff upp or down

Don't know how/if it works on a Mac, but in Windows, using the Staff Tool, after selecting any staff, you can move it up and down with just the up/down arrow (at least on my keyboard). Another, very precise solution would be to use the Staff tool, then select the staff you want to move, then menu S...

Shortcut to move one staff upp or down

I know that holding Alt key and dragging the staff handle moves only that stave. Is there any shortcut that works that way so that I can use up and down arrow on the keyboard? I have tried with Alt + Up but it is another function (made my score extremely messy!). Moving with the mouse is extremely t...

Re: OT: pagination software

I have purchased CutePDF Pro, as recommended by Motet - thank you.

The other options may perhaps work well, but I needed to fix the issue quickly and effectively, so that was the fastest option.

It looks that it is what I need.

* Have you already tried to add page numbers, footers and headers?
* Does it work well with Finale (print to PDF)?

Thanks David, I will wait for more response. PDF Split and Merge : Easily split, merge and extract pages from PDF files (it's free and works well) https://www.7-pdf.com/products/pdf-split-and-merge 7PDF offers also other free and useful PDF programs I can't see that this software makes pagination (p...

OT: pagination software

The day my old Win machine totally died, I lost the old version of Acrobat Pro which I used to organise multiple PDF files and add page numbers and headers/footers. Now, when I have multiple Finale files for each movement, I need to combine parts with the correct pagination. What software do you rec...

Re: Finale and 4K monitor

I have three problems with Mac (MBP late 2015, 15 inch): 1. My mac is Mac Book Pro, and despite the dedicated graphical card, it gets very hot when editing in 4K monitor. This is a known issue, not specifically for just my machine. After 15 minutes fans are running at highest speed. 2. Finale on Mac...

Re: Can't print graphics

Make PDF page from your score, download Inkscape, open PDF in it, and than you can theoretically add whatever graphics you want, and colorise whatever symbol you want, without limit.
Than save as PDF again.

Finale and 4K monitor

Friends, I have Mac, but my scores are quite heavy for Finale, and it is very slow. Some of my documents have 1000+ measures, and a lot of information. On Windows it works much faster. After the old Win computer has died, I am trying to find a replacement. The most important is that my BenQ display,...

So, how to move these grace notes at the place shown on my picture, so that they stay there fixed in eternity, and at the same time not affecting all other grace notes in the score (created and to-be crated)?

Yes, but grace note look terribly misplaced.
Just to confirm: I ask here about settings for grace notes, auto spacing and manual adjustments.

Yes, but when I manually move them, they get respaced every time the measure is touched (applied note spacing or entered another note)

Re: Grace Note Offset on Entry ?

p.s. I want to respace the grace notes, by moving them to the left in order to make more room between notes. I want to keep that manual adjustments fixed AND at the same time I want them to be included in the music spacing calculation. Upon entry I need them to be placed at the standard distance. I...
