Hi Andrew,

I also recently just posted several of my own KM macros on my website. Feel free to use them however you wish!

Re: Measure Numbers Below Measure Distance

I'm not worried about the parts. I'm more concerned about the actual score and I am not messing with the part measure numbers at all. I guess you could say that I'm looking for "fixed positioning" in the same way that fonts can have "fixed size". And if that isn't a thing, some way to use JW Lua to ...

Measure Numbers Below Measure Distance

Hi There, I like having measure numbers below every measure in the score to speed up the rehearsal process. I'm trying to find a way to make them appear the same distance below the system no matter how large score is. For instance, they should always be 1 inch below the score (I just picked a number...

Re: Exporting Score and Parts into 1 PDF file

Hi There, Along this same thread, I recently wrote a Python script that would merge the score and parts into a single file in score order (it reads the score to figure out what the specific score order is). Isn't polished up yet, but if anyone wants it, I'd be willing to polish the program and try t...

Re: copy dynamic or articulation markings to all parts

Hi There, You can actually copy/paste in Finale using filters. Edit > Edit Filter: Check the boxes for the specific things you want to copy Edit > Use Filter: Make sure this option is checked Copy/Paste like normal When done, Edit > Use Filter: Make sure this option is unchecked so copy/paste works ...

Another option instead of GPO is https://www.noteperformer.com/.

I recently found out about it does many things such as Bartok pizz. It might be worth checking out.

Re: percussion layers

Hi There, What you are looking for is actually two different functionalities. For the percussion notes, as Zuill pointed out, they don't transpose the same way that ordinary notes do and hence 6/7 won't work. Instead, use the Transpose Percussion tool (Utilities > Transpose Percussion). For the othe...

Re: Manually re-spacing staves within a system by dragging

Hi Sam, If I understand what you want to do correctly, you want to respace things so entire system so it fills the page. If that's the case, a year ago I wrote a JW Lua script that will resize the system so it fills the page. You can get it here: https://nickmazuk.com/Resources/JWLua#setsystemtopage...

Bigger Rehearsal Marks in Score

Hi there, Is there an easy way to make the rehearsal marks larger in the score than in the linked parts? I know you can simply use two rehearsal marks and hide one in the score while hiding the others in the parts. You can also simply create a new file after the parts are created and then adjust the...

Re: "Composer's Assistant" Finale 2012 plug-in

I could not find where to download the plug-in, but I did find evidence that the plug-in will work on Finale 2014.5 . It will not work in Finale 25 or later. If you still have Finale 2012 installed, you might be able to simply copy it to Finale 2014.5: Find Finale 2012 plug-ins folder (/Library/Appl...

Re: Note entry off by a 3rd on Mac

So not on full screen mode, there isn't the issue.

I tested it on simple zoom percentages like the 200% and 400% as well as more complex percentages like 324% while not in full screen. Everything works as expected.

The same zoom percentages in full screen mode have the problem.

Re: Cross-System Beaming

Just use the built-in Patterson plug-in. Highlight the section that you want to beam across the barline/system Plug-ins > Note, Beam, and Rest Editing > Patterson Plug-Ins Lite > Beam Over Barlines > Create I tested this with both across a system break and just over regular barlines. Hope this helps!

Note entry off by a 3rd on Mac

Hi, I like to use Finale in full screen mode on a Mac. When I switch to a document from another screen (i.e. not switching between Finale tabs) by using the 4-finger swipe or command tab, note entry is about a 3rd off of my mouse. In other words, notes are notated about a 3rd above where my cursor i...
