Re: from 3/4 to 6/8 simplest way
Thus? I experimented with JW Meter and Rhythm.

Re: Customized palette not saving
Ah. I in fact do a similar thing with the Repitch tool. Use the TGTools menu shortcuts and define a key like this. When you press that key, you'll be taken to Simple Entry with the double whole note selected. The Simple entry palette will appear. Make sure you've selected the program option to close...

Re: Tempo Issues - Finale will not keep Expression Tempo
This appears to be just a violin part, not a score of parts. It's a HP problem.

Re: fermata for a silence in finale 25
Can't say without seeing your file. You can copy the rest with fermata from flute to horn, etc.

Re: Tempo Issues - Finale will not keep Expression Tempo
Oy. That appears to be caused by the fermata in the previous measure. If you put the fermata on the quarter rest instead, then it heeds the new tempo. You can drag it over so it looks like its on the half rest, if you want.

Re: Tempo Issues - Finale will not keep Expression Tempo
I can duplicate your problem--very strange. The problem seems to be with Human Playback. Try setting Human Playback Style to Classical instead of Standard. If I do that, the tempo change in m. 33 doesn't happen.

Re: fermata for a silence in finale 25
You need to enter a whole rest rather than use the default rests that Finale puts in every bar. Select those measures, then go to plug-ins/Note, Beam, and Rest editing/Change to real whole rests (only do this where you want to put fermatas). Then you can put fermatas on them.

Re: Ver. 26.2.2.493 Crashes
Hopefully, when you press Play, HP will only process the current measure forward, but I'm not sure of that. If it always processes everything, then you could temporarily delete a measure or group of measures at a time and find it that way. The most efficient way would be to clear half the harp's mea...

Re: Ver. 26.2.2.493 Crashes
I was suggesting that, with "leftmost" set, you could maybe experiment and find which measure was causing it and find the offending expression as David says. David's idea is good, too.

Re: Ver. 26.2.2.493 Crashes
I turned HP off (to none) and all worked just fine. As soon as I turned it back to standard, it crashed on the very first press of the space bar to even begin playback, much less stop it!! I have found that it is this file only, and it seems to have only begun when I added a harp part, which of cou...

Yes, just press 8 on the keypad. I think the Simple Entry palette may be special.

Re: Ver. 26.2.2.493 Crashes
You might try, as an experiment, setting human playback style to "none" and see if that eliminates it.

Re: Problem 'Articolazioni' (Smart shape tool when PRINT)
Should a user still need a certain feature to be deactivated and it also makes sense for other users, I would add additional deactivation buttons. I would say give the options of activating/deactivating all such things for maximum flexibility. I could see wanting to run PL only for one particular t...

Re: beaming 4 eighth notes
I think it depends on the feel of the music. If it's always 4+4+4+2, then beaming that way seems appropriate and is certainly easier to read.

Re: beaming 4 eighth notes
I think you'd want something like 4+4+4+2/8, Mike. What you've shown there looks like 14/4.

You can also use Utilities/Rebeam to Time Signature: 3/2 on ordinary 7/4 if you've already entered music.

Re: Empty system mixing with grand staff and single staff
Set up your piece to have both a grand staff and a single staff, fill in the notes, then hide the unused staff in each system as needed.

Re: I need help with a score I'm working on . . . .
The page itself is huge, or the measures in the final system? Look at Document/Page Format/Score and make sure the page size is what you want. If not, change it, then go to the Page Layout tool and do "Redefine Pages." As for your other spacing problems, it's hard to say without knowing what they ar...

Re: Finale 25.4.1.152 loads VERY slowly
In my case I've solved the slow loading. Not Finale's fault, but rather the Windows virus check, which apparently is bypassed if you've run the program recently, hence the quicker loading the second time. I have added Finale as an exception and it now loads quickly. I had tried this before, but only...
