Seems unlikely, I'm afraid.
Are you familiar with the Steve Reich pieces in this vein (It's Gonna Rain, e.g.)?

Works for me. Can you start over? If that doesn't help, attach the file here and someone will probably be able to help.

Look at the copy filter--there are choices for clefs there.

Thanks. I still have 2014.5, so that's not it, but I'll file that away for when I upgrade.

Re: Delay when opening Finale
I don't think I have it. A search for "rewire" on my computer only turns up something in Sibelius (which loads much quicker). Perhaps it was added in a later verison of Finale.fratveno wrote:Trashing the rewire dll might help...

Re: Delay when opening Finale
By saying "even faster" I take it you think 10-12 seconds isn't slow, but that's the kind of delay I'm complaining about. I suppose it could be the Windows security stuff. I told it not to scan finale.exe every time, which made no difference, but I suppose if Finale is for some reason slogging throu...

Re: How to get a SQUARE FRAME around text
I've wondered why text blocks don't have enclosures like expressions. Having to do it with the shape designer is pretty unwieldy and requires lots of trial and error.

Delay when opening Finale
I experience a long delay when opening Finale. The splash screen is displayed and the cursor signifies that it's busy. I thought it was my old, slow computer, but I have a new, very fast machine now and it's no better. It's perhaps 10 seconds. What could it possibly be doing all that time? Is it con...

Re: 2014.5 Text block appear in some parts but not others?
You can also have a text block assigned to a staff. In either that case or using Michel's expressions, you'd have to hide them in the score, though. You might try putting a page-attached text block in the score (and thus all the parts), hiding it, then unlinking it from all the parts. It will be hid...

Re: Change Instrument Dialog doesn't show all instruments
I recently used a celesta in a piece and wanted to write it on one staff, and Finale supplied two. I deleted one of the staves, but there was some confusion on the part of the Score Manager and some sort of remnant left over, if I recall correctly.

Perhaps they only sent it to those whose latest version is 2014.5. Since you have v25, they probably considered you upgraded.

Re: Incorporating audio track
I was able import the audio and set the click track. The music has repeats with endings, so when I get to that point I guess I'll have to doctor the audio file to play the first ending and then immediately the second ending, and reload it, but it will be a while before I get there. Thanks--this is e...

Incorporating audio track
Zuill, am I remembering correctly that you have a way of importing an audio track for the purpose of transcription, one that matches a Finale file measure for measure? I have a .wav file.

Plug-in to change quarters to eighth note + eighth rest?
Am I remembering right that there's a plug-in to do this? I looked at JW Meter and Rhythm but didn't see how to do it.

Re: Can you reorder staves on a system by system basis?
I guess you could have separate Piccolo and Flute 3 staves and include both in the part, but it would take some fooling around to ensure that both staves never appear at the same time in the part (such as when the switch is made mid-system). Or, have both Piccolo and Flute 3 on the same staff as usu...

Heard back from MM support. "Reload MIDI driver" was their only suggestion, so I told them to close the ticket.

Check "Enhanced Tuplets" (called "Engraver Tuplets" in my version) and pick "Never bracket beamed notes on beam side."

That is odd. Can you run it again on the file you attached above (which I used) and double-check the settings? Make sure white boxes are really white (not half-filled) and checked boxes are really checked.

OK, thanks--I will experiment. SoftSynth is not ideal--with enough instruments playing, things tend to get lost. Maybe this is the kick in the pants I need.

Re: MIDI playback not working
Finale support is dismal. I filed the ticket mid-day Wednesday, heard back 24 hours later with "try reloading MIDI driver" (which I had already tried but tried again and reported that it didn't work) and have not heard back again another 24 hours later. I'm expecting instructions on recreating my pr...
