simple but baffled
Trying to put orchestral score page numbers - baffled! Getting the same number ("1") on all pages, and can't get L and R positioning. Have read the instructions several times.

vocal "line"
Here I have some cue notes preceding a flute line. They are sung by baritone. After the word "home" there is a long line that extends for several measures. How would I remove that line? Thanks, see attached.

Re: reverb
Thanks, I tried d/l from https://audacity.en.softonic.com/mac/download and found it so confusing. Several prompts - "relaunch", "download in progress," "download" appearing several times. Not sure about this. I'm sure the app would help me though. I would suggest, and I do it myself, you d/l Audacit...

Re: [staff 5]
It's on my score on screen, however, it doesn't appear on hard copy. So perhaps
I shouldn't be overly concerned about it. Still I wonder why it's not showing up on screen
for you.

Re: reverb
I'm assuming that the only two adjustments are the blue-ish reverb level dial and the volume slider - yes?
Bill Stevens wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 11:36 pmOdd. It worked for me when I opened your file. Maybe someone else can help.

How do I add reverb to the attached? I don't see VST Banks on my MIDI/audio
or Garritan FX, but I did manage to get reverb recently - I don't remember how
though. See attached file.

extract parts windows
I am trying out some of the suggestions received regarding extracting
and linked parts. Why is it that, when trying to extract, I get two different
kinds of windows, as seen in the attachment. One shows the instruments/parts,
the other doesn't.

Re: extract parts
Right, but when I save the part, the resulting file is not the part, it is the entire score.
Bill Stevens wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:18 amOn your piece
Go > Document > Manage Parts > Generate Parts
Now if you do Document > Edit Parts you will see all the linked parts.
The parts may require some tinkering, but they are there.

Re: extract parts
I watched the vid (extract parts) and yes he does explain the difference between extract and linked parts. I see the difference. However he never shows exactly how to extract and save a part. I sent him my question and will see if he responds. Thanks. Watch this video: https://www.conqueringfinale.c...

Re: extract parts
Thanks. Now I understand what Linked Parts means. I'll continue to try things out and will let you know if I'm stumped, which is likely. :-) Extract Parts is the old way to do it, which some people still use for various reasons. That creates individual files for each extracted part. The more modern ...

Re: extract parts
My original question was how to extract parts from score, or generate parts, in my understanding they are the same. I don't mean "linked" parts, except if that's the only way to extract parts. OK - can you explain how to do it? The extracted parts are created from the linked parts. Which means that ...

Re: extract parts
I have followed this suggestion. All good until the last step. The #10 instruction says "Choose Document > Edit Part > Clarinet in Bb." I get the clar. part and save it as "clar." Good. Then, when I open the saved part, I get the score, not the part. From the Manual: View the Create parts QuickStart...

Which means that you can not avoid generating linked parts:
Document menu > Manage Parts…
Today the “standard procedure” is to use linked parts - and very seldom extracted parts.

After making several attempts, I am at a complete loss on how to extract parts on the attached file. I have followed this: "Choose File > Extract Parts. The Extract Parts dialog box appears. Specify the instruments you want to extract by checking the desired parts (and/or the score)." I cannot under...

Re: Instrument list
Very good points - I appreciate that. Just thought I'd mention that hiding staves should be done only after fully completing a score and the layout is somewhat set. And then there is the question, is hiding staves really necessary? Don't hide staves simply because they're empty. A score should have ...

empty. Using the Staff tool, how do I reveal them on the score?
