enharmonic
In the attached example I want to change all A#s to Bbs globally. So I highlight all measures, I go to Finale/Enharmonic spelling/favor flats - but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Re: tuplets/rhythm
Thanks. Time Signature Tool. Double-click the first measure. *) In the dialog box Time Signature, set the Number of Beats to 2, and set the Beat Duration to a Dotted Quarter. *) Or, work faster, and use the context menu. If you in the context menu choose 6/8, you will automatically get two beats wit...

In the attached example I'm trying to get 2 groups of three 8ths in each measure.
How would I set the meter to get that? My meter (6/8) is correct, it's just the groupings
I'm trying to get. Thanks.

Re: measure numbers
Thanks As I said, when I open your file, I don't see measure numbers on measures 4 and 8. But in the Measure tool I see handles there, and if I select all, the numbers show up indicating that they're hidden. See pictures below. I wonder why they're hidden in my version of Finale. If I right click on...

Re: measure numbers
I would like to have tried this when I was seeing the problem. It's possible to force show a measure number where one normally wouldn't exist. For some reason, this has happened in your file. (I can't say how). But the quick fix is to select the Measure Tool, then Cmd-A (Select All), and from the Me...

Re: measure numbers
I just dragged the measure number onto the next page and it disappeared. I don't know why I did this, but apparently it's a workaround fix. I'm at a loss. Perhaps one of the larger brains can help. The only thing I can think is to make a new file with the right settings and copy/paste into that file...

Re: measure numbers
Yes, I checked that. Can you look again at my attachment?
Bill Stevens wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 11:19 pmOdd that we are getting different results. I guess maybe on the new "Add" region be sure that the settings are correct, especially "Show on start of staff system".

Re: measure numbers
I'm working with the same little sample I sent you.
Bill Stevens wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 11:06 pmYou clicked "Delete" and then "Add" and there was no change?
It worked on the little sample you sent, but maybe there is some other issue with the full score.

Re: measure numbers
Yes, I am in the Measure tool, edit measure number regions, I clicked "delete,"
then I clicked "add." When I clicked "add" it just adds the same info
that I deleted.

OK - how would I do that? Attached is a screenshot.

I seem to be having a measure numbering issue. See attached. It's showing
measures 4 and 8 with measure numbers - I only want measure numbers at the beginning
of systems. This problem appears throughout this piece. Thanks.

Das iz was I was looking for! (I have a Mac so no "end" key, so I just selected that whole line for the desired result.) Sank you! Click in the first measure with the staff tool. Hold down the shift ley, and tap the “end” key. This will select that staff all the way to the end. Grab the handle, and ...

I'm working on the first part of your response (staff spacing), which I don't fully understand. Specifically, why switch to scroll view and then back to page view without having done anything in scroll view? Then, having gotten to "Set to Scroll View Spacing" what should I do at that point? When I t...

On this one I have a bit much too space between staves and between systems, resulting in a fourth page
with only two systems. I know how to reduce these spaces individually but how do I do it for all
the staves and systems? Thanks.

Re: circle
Thanks, that worked just fine. See the attached example. I'm using the circle to clarify a seeming mistake as a footnote ("ossia") to a piano piece. An F-natural is intentionally written even though it might seem like a typo. Thanks for your question. Sure, use the expression tool to do it. Curious,...

Thanks for your comment. I am a pianist and composer and have been using Finale for many years. I followed your link to the manual and found extensive articles about groups, seemingly very detailed, but could not find anywhere a definition of the word "group" in the context of Finale. I assume they...
