I think I was trying to use the note mover tool. It looked like the cross staff tool from my former Finale (2009) I got it to work now by highlighting the note and pressing option and the arrow. Thanks.

I've always been able to use cross staff to put notes from one staff into another and keep the notes in the other staff, but all of a sudden, it just replaces the other notes with rests. I'll attach a sample of what happens when I try it. I have Finale 25X on High Sierra.

It ended up working if I clicked on the X and it turned into an F. I don't know what the F stands for but now it works.

It must be something about Finale X on a mac and Set-Up Wizard because I did have all the parts checked and I only get the little white squares on the other parts. Yes, I did that. I also tried redoing the Groups and Brackets. And making a new list but nothing would make the D.C. appear on all the staffs. It did work when I set it up as a default document. I'll attach the file.

This is all pretty complicated. I was just hoping Finale had something that would work globally already in the program like in Utilities (Change) or Document preferences. I ended up doing each text block individually.

It seemed to be because I couldn't get rid of it until I followed Mike Rosen's advice and put in the T the right way. Since I went from Finale 2009 - 25 in one fell swoop, I missed the gradual instructions. I sure do like 25X, though (as long as I can stay on top of things).
