Re: HP issue: tempo slows down for no reason
It definitely has to do with the fermata. If you remove the fermata it is in time.
In HP if you put the fermata duration at zero it is in time.

Re: Basic question solo guitar arrangement adding string numbers
When you are adding expressions for guitar note the short cuts. For instance -- double click the expression tool > in the left column click PIMA > note that each of the expressions in that category has a shortcut in the upper right hand corner of the box, so for instance if you want a p you just hol...

Re: empty measure 4/2 time
If you are changing ALL whole rests then you can go to Document Options > Notes and Rests, choose the whole note rest character and change it. But that won't work if you have both whole and double whole note rests in your piece.

It works best to start with the five parts and then hide staves when you don't need them.

Re: Score Merger leaves stuff out
While Score Merger can be handy in some cases, I feel safer combining PDF's. Of course that means if something has to be changed you will need to go through the PDF steps again, so wait until the bitter end to do this.

If you are setting hymns, find a hymnal that you like the looks of and work to copy that look.

N gave you the straight answer to this, but another approach would be to use the Tools menu, select a tool, and see what icon lights up on the palette. Also, you can hover the cursor over icons in the palette and the name of the icon will pop up. Resize is not the only icon that changed. Welcome abo...

Re: Measure number only at start of line - Fail
You may be right that the original had measure numbers on every bar. Use the measure tool and select every measure handle on the page. The control-click any handle and select "Show/Hide Based on Region". For me that returns numbers to only the beginning of the staff.

Musicus,
Have you tried posting a file here that has the sound problem? I have v27 but use v26 almost exclusively and don't run into playback issues.

Have you tried restarting Finale, and if that doesn't work, restarting the computer?
