Go to the Instrument list Window. Create a "New Instrument", each time with a different midi channel.
how to change the name of a staff in the middle of the score As Peter S. said, you can create staff styles which will have a specific staff name, and which you can apply to the region of your choice in the staff of your choice. Here is the detailed procedure (with the English terms) : Staff Tool St...

Re: 8ba, how change the playback effect (octave downFinale 2
In the Smart Shape Tool (the icon is a curve), you'll find the 8va, and you can drag the line to the right to cover a region, in which the music plays in the octave above. If you select the same symbol 8va with the option key pressed on a Mac, it will give you the 8vb, correct playback included. On ...

Re: Delete articulations
This is really better in Fin2004. It is possible to drag a rectangle around all the handles on the screen and press delete (DEL). When you hold the DEL-button and drag the rectangle all articulations in that region will be deleted. It is also possible to select as many different articulations as yo...

Re: Change sharp notes to flat equivalent
Chapter 6-4 of the manual should help you.
Take a look at the Options menu, Enharmonic spelling. "favor flats" is one of the many options you have.
Also, in Speedy entry, if 9 does it for single notes, option-9 allows you to change accidentals of a whole measure to their enharmonic equivalents.

Re: Channel - Program Change Difficulties
Each time I use the "Instrument List" box and try to type in a new channel or program change, all of the staves (3...melody..underlying piano) change with it. Don't modify an existing instrument, create NEW instruments, and for each of them use a different midi channel. Then select the instruments ...

I usually do this creating the one bar repeat also as a text expression. Then you can easily place it anywhere on your staff.rick wrote:one bar repeat sign above the staff
(Save that text expression library and load it in your templates).

Re: MIDI won't update
I am using 2003 on an os9 mac with an MOTU serial interface and have a problem with the MIDI playback. Sometimes it won't update changes for playback. I keep hearing the old part before correction. Saving or command backslashing doesn't help. Closing the file and reopening it doesn't help but if I ...

Use Text Expressions, they can be defined to have a effect on playback: - Create a text expression ("flute", "alto sax", "patch 33", whatever). - In the"Text Expression Designer" window : Click on "Show Playback options" to see more options - Playback Options > Type > Patch - Define your patch. - Th...

I have not been able to import/open files created on a Mac (Finale 2004) on a PC (Fnale 2004). Keeps saying Invalid File Type. A remark : most of the time, double clicking on the file won't work to open it. Launch Finale first, and then in the File menu, use open. Then save the file, it will later ...

Re: Chord symbols & note resizing

Is there a way to resize notes in a region independently of the chord symbols? Another little idea :...

My lead sheet has a pickup and it's in there and working, but I can't use the Measure Attributes panel or the Measure Tool to get the first complete bar to have double bar lines at the start of the tune.. Yes, you would use the printer port for an additional 16 MIDI channels. No, there is no way around using your printer port for achieving 32 channels. Just use the B port on the MIDI interface. For big band scores, I would like to be able to define more than 16 instruments (considering the doublings etc...). I figure it's a font problem, but I've tried going into the options and messing around, but nothing seems to work. Indeed, that's typ...
