Possibly have 2 title pages that show in score and parts. One is for the score and one for the parts. Then, when printing, only choose the one that is needed. Maybe not all printers have the same option, but in mine, I can choose 1, 3-end for the score, and then in the part, 2-end.

Here's a file with a Smart Shape Bracket in it. It is the default bracket. I lengthened the hooks a bit. A custom bracket doesn't behave this way, but the default one does.

I think it has to do with your Spacing Width setting. You might want to try playing with that.

I understand about the notation as being acceptable. I suppose one could get the proper playback by still using the asterisk, but hiding it to get Finale to do things properly. If one wants overlapping pedal, then the asterisk is not necessary. Just put another Ped.

If you need the asterisk, it will be more easily accomplished with the SmartShape Tool. If you want the asterisk to be under the note and the Ped after, that can be accomplished easily.

I can print beautiful high resolution tif files from both 2014 and 2014.5. I'm using Windows 7, however. But they are crisp and clean.

The JW plugins are available from the Finale Tips website. They are 3rd party plugins. Jari doesn't charge for them. You can donate to his work, however.

I used Jari's JW Meter and Rhythm plugin to change 3/4 to 3/8. I then used the time signature tool to change it to 6/8 (compound meter) and that was it.

In the attached file, I left the rest of the work undone (changing the repeats, for example).

Addressing the workaround using shape expressions, independent adjustment of the same shape requires the use of a metatool.

I've seen a similar issue when a measure stack is not selected. Doing the copy/paste in the part often allows the proper behavior.

Maybe seeing the actual file for testing would help us to see what's up.

Unfortunately, if using Simple, you still have to deal with the placeholder rests, so there is an extra step deleting one of them. Too bad.

Simply converting is often not enough. That's why I use Audacity. After opening a wav file in Audacity, I then normalize the audio. Also, sometimes I want to trim either the beginning or the end, if needed. I then have several options for mp3, depending on the quality and type needed.
