Re: any way to play back percussion sounds not in the same midi map?
Rather than editing your file, I thought I would start by posting a file that is based on one I created some time back for another Forum topic. If this is the concept, then we can go from there. The Percussion Layout has one sound from the Orchestral Percussion Map, and two from the Jazz Fusion Map....

Re: any way to play back percussion sounds not in the same midi map?
I only have GIfF. If that's what you have, I might be able to help. Can you create a simple file of what you want to start with? Then I can see if I can modify it to get other sounds.

Re: Guitar Bend won't work
I must be missing something. I don't see a grace note or a bend in bar 32. Oh, I see you are saying that Finale won't apply a guitar bend. I'll check on that. However, what about the grace note. Where should it be?
Zuill
P.S.: I can apply Bends, so maybe I need more detail about where you want them.

Re: any way to play back percussion sounds not in the same midi map?
There is a way to do this. However, it's not easy. I don't use 2014 much any more, so I wouldn't be able to help.

Maybe it's a v27 thing. I dare not use that version until the testing phase is over.

Re: Finale v26 playing wrong note durations
I have never had a problem with half notes playing correctly. I've been using Finale for 25 years. The reason we suggested to see the file is that there have been unusual things in files which can't be easily seen which can cause odd behavior. There are some brilliant gurus here that can "think" Fin...

Re: saving - trouble
I usually back up my preferences file in case resetting doesn't solve the problem, so the settings can be reinstated. Once you back them up, in Preferences, click the button called "Reset all preferences". If things are different for Mac, then look it up in the documentation and it will explain the ...

Re: Key change
Notes that are correct but an octave too high can be fixed after the fact. Just highlight the measure(s) with the Selection Tool and press 8 to drop the notes one octave.

Recreate Preferences? Maybe Mac has a similar issue to Windows involving the temp files.

Re: Is it possible to combine two separate Instrument Techniques?
If the issue is keyswitches, when all else fails, you can create custom keyswitch expressions for that, unique to the sample set being used.

One Staff or one System? The First Arrow is Global. The Second Arrow is Staff. The Third Arrow is System.

Re: Removing tremolos
Are we talking about Articulation tremolos or those created with the TGTools plugin? If the Plugin type, try Retranscribe. Some things get removed with that, but you might find it the easiest way.

I tried to download the Windows file and my computer blocked it as being potentially dangerous. I'll try a different browser.

Re: Finale Copyist Font
I don't think this link will work: https://store.makemusic.com/Downloads/Default.aspx
It probably will just take you to the Downloads page. Choose Finale in the top slot, then Choose Fontpacks in the Category slot, and the 2 files I mentioned should show up at the top of the list.

It looks like there are 2 font installer files for v27 (Mac and Windows) posted on the downloads page on July 9. Do those require that you have purchased v27 first?

Re: Tremolo is not working
The cause of the v27 issues is that 27 is the cube of 3. There is symbolism here, if comparing to a Rubik's Cube. We just need to find someone to solve the puzzle. Then it will work just fine.

Re: change of tone
The trick is to have 2 measures to appear as one. Then put the key change in the second measure, which will appear as in the middle of the bar. There is a plugin to help with this.

Re: Tremolo is not working
Without having v27 (waiting for the "user" testing phase to complete), I'm guessing the issue is that the Font slots used in Finale Maestro are not being recognized by Human Playback. If that is the case, I recommend using Maestro instead of Finale Maestro until they fix Human Playback. I'm guessing...

Re: Tie Endpoints: Vertically Offset if Pitch Changes
Tied notes are of the same pitch, not different pitches. Slurs are for different pitches. Choose a slur instead, and then there won't be a need for any adjustments.

You imported the XML in v26, it worked correctly there, but opening the same file in v27 displays the improper behavior. Is that what's happening?
