EB, please, let it drop.
And the same to all of you. Let's continue to point out our personal experience, without it getting personal.

Re: How do you save/export a file as an MP3?
No. Or at least, none that I've been able to discover. I recently became a Keyboard Maestro user, and after a lot of mistakes, I finally made a shortcut for the cursor to click on the Type drop down, change to MP3, and Save, all with one hot key. Woo hoo! It's saved me a lot of time.

Re: sixteenth note sextuplet
I guess entering the first note before the tuplet may be confusing to some users, in Simple. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Speedy require you to define the tuplet before entering anything?

Dtoub,
Please refrain from such sarcastic criticism. EB is indeed fortunate to have the program working so well for him.

Re: MakeMusic at the NAMM trade show
I completely agree with David’s outlook. Finale is quickly becoming the red-headed stepchild of MakeMusic, or whatever they’re calling themselves now.
Depressing, indeed.

Re: Lost in space
Not sure I agree completely, EB. If it's a complex set of information, yes, we are here to help. If it's something that can be solved by typing "show hidden staves" in the search field of the help files, then possibly RTFM is the better choice. When I grew up (and dinosaurs roamed the earth) my refe...

Re: What am I missing about this program?
My experience with MuseScore is that it is adequate, but just. I kept looking for things that I would do in Finale, but they were either not there, or too well hidden for me to find. Still, if MS does what you need, no reason not to use it. If you would like a few lessons in getting started with Fin...

Re: Audio: two different pitches for one percussion instrument
It appears that you have two pitches for the claves loaded. If you select a note in the first measure, it will read Claves (2), but if you step through the notes with the right arrow, you will get to a measure where it just says Claves. You can use the up or down arrows to get to the other sound. I ...

You can also double tap the duration key (2-8) to dismiss the flat, sharp, or dot.

As a moderator, my task is not to answer every question (which I couldn't.) It's simply to step in with a calming voice when threads may be heating up with personal attacks, or remove and ban obvious spammers.

Do you have a print copy? If you do, scan it and send it to me, and I'll see what I can do.

Are you acquainted with Jucio Brennen’s Lyric Hyphenator? https://juiciobrennan.com/hyphenator/ I tried this. It worked on one thing, crashed on another. This one line makes it crash. How reliable is it? It's you. How nice to see you. Now get out. Maybe because there’s nothing that needs hyphenatio...

There are a lot of things that don’t work the way they should. Unfortunately they are unable (or unwilling) to fix them. This is just another one of many.

Re: Assigning lyrics
If you have a slur over a number of notes (melisma), you may use Shift lyrics. There are a few simple options, but what I think you'd need in this case is Shift lyrics to the right, and Shift syllables by one note to the end of the lyric. That's how I do it. Sometimes, you go too far by mistake, an...

Re: Assigning lyrics
Right. When you click the lyrics in one by one, you skip the slurs and put the next lyric where it belongs. Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen with flowing them in.

Re: Assigning lyrics
Exactly as Anders says. On a Mac, opt-click flows the lyrics in, but I guess it’s different on Windows. Ties will be skipped automatically, and use Shift Lyrics to go over slurs.

That’s what I did; just tied double whole notes front to back.
