Just curious. This topic now has a green circle with a check. I understand this means the issue has been solved.
If this is indeed the case, what did Lola do to resolve the issue?

Re: smart score fragmented finale over 4 pages
Thanks Mike, I see now, by going back to pre V25 versions of Finale, that there was a "File->Import->TIFF file..." option. This would automatically bring up either SS Lite, or Pro if you had installed it. You would then need to run it through the recognition phase of SS and save it as a MusicXML fil...

Re: smart score fragmented finale over 4 pages
AFAIK, TIF(F) format files cannot be "put" in Finale directly. You can place TIFF files on a Finale page with the Graphics Tool. https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/FinaleMac/Content/Finale/ID_MAINTOOL_GRAPHIC.htm?Highlight=tiff Yes BuonTempi, but all that does is place a graphic (TIFF) on the Fina...

Re: Behavior of Rests in Speedy
Yes, that's a document wide setting. If your document requires that only some floating rests be at the zero position default, it looks like you will need to reposition those floating rests manually.

Re: smart score fragmented finale over 4 pages
I am playing around with Smart score pro - . it made a tiff file from a PDF test of a lead sheet ( NOT a scan). I imported the tiff file into Finale. I had to reenter lyrics and delete some unwanted measures at the end that we don't need. Unfortunately, the score now has has systems spread over 4 p...

Re: OT: PDF editing software
... will PDFCreator work in this instance? Yes. PDFCreator is quite robust. You can set it to automatically save files or wait until you name the file. It can be set to either overwrite existing files or not. The initial filename picked can be modified in just about any way you can imagine. Since i...

Re: OT: PDF editing software
PDFCreator: Was good, but cannot recommend anymore because of all the Adware it now tries to install. What adware? I just updated to 2.4. For the installed product, there are no ads except for their own product PDF Architect, and it is not a popup ad, you have to click on the tab to see it. Since t...

Re: Behavior of Rests in Speedy
John, et al., For Windows anyway, there is a document option that controls this "default" behavior. Go to "Document->Document Options...->Layers". Choose layer 2, then set the adjust floating rests setting to zero steps. This should take care of the problem in your workflow, but it is such a simple ...

Re: OT: PDF editing software
I use pdfforge products. http://www.pdfforge.org Their freeware PDFCreator is a virtual printer that lets you create PDFs from any Windows program that supports printing. Their commercial PDF Architect is customizable in that you can install the modules you need to perform all things related to PDFs.

Motet, I see you have emerged from the dark side. I don't see why anyone would particularly want to remain hidden as far as when they last visited the site. I am not paranoid about letting it be known who I am, my real name, where I live, how to contact me, my background, or my interests. To e...

John, :D I hope you take this in the humorous manner in which it was intended. :D Perhaps you should remove one of your duplicate postings. They are 15 minutes apart time wise. But seriously, there should be a category for scripting. Finalescript as well as JW Lua script could be combined into a cat...

Search for a user's posts
I was trying to respond to a post that I had read from Zuill recently, but I just could not find it. Is it possible for the administrators to add the ability to search for posts from a given user? This request may not be trivial, if the forum software does not already include it. The old MM forum ha...

Re: Banned from MakeMusic forum
Djard, The file size limit has been raised to 250 MB, and the forum now accepts .mus and .musx files. Mike, But not PDF, TXT, and probably other file types. The workaround I've used is to tack a .ZIP to the end of the file name. ZIPs upload OK provided the 250MB limit isn't exceeded. Anyway to know...

Re: Transposing help!
tcmschlosser, Did you see the file comment? It sounds like you did not rename the downloaded file by removing the .ZIP extension. I had to add .ZIP on to the end because, as of now, this forum will not allow the upload of PDF files, unless I'm missing something. Groan! The file is a PDF, which I ass...

Choose a transposition of Other and put these values in Interval/AlterKey: Horn in A: 2/-3 Horn in E: 5/-4 PS: Both Motet and myself have produced charts for everything concerning transposition. I must admit that Motet's is easier to use than mine, and addresses only instruments that actually exist ...

Maybe you can find out what the threshold is. Would be nice to know. But, as Motet said somewhere recently, It makes no difference. It is what it is, and that's that.

Gentlemen/Ladies, There seems to be a change of opinion on the issue of having to use a "cloud" server to upload/download file examples/snippets large or small. I suggest you get a cloud space provider and link to your files there (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.). Even 250KB is too small IMHO. I suggest no less than 1MB. I have many MUSX/MUS files larger than 250KB, and I don't have a very large collection, and none with what might be deemed large scores, like fully orchestrated symphonies or operas. Maybe someone with such a collection should chime in here w...
