It looks like restarting Finale clears SmartFind and Paint, which you probably discovered since you haven't been back here. Restarting Finale is always the first thing you should try if there's a problem. If that doesn't work, reboot the computer.

You've accidentally invoked "SmartFind and Paint." On the Edit menu, pick SmarFind and Paint/Deselect.

Select the text block in the Text tool, then Text/Standard Frame, uncheck "Show Border."

I'm not sure which border you're referring to, but to change from the title to the part name, go to the text tool, right-click on the title, and pick Edit Text. Select all, delete it, then use the Text menu, Inserts, Score/Part name.

If some parts have repeats and others have them written out, it can be confusing in rehearsals, which I think overrides any advantages you might see having repeats in the piano part. There might even be a disadvantage to repeats if you have to turn the page back.

Do you mean you leave Finale running with the file open for a long time? If so, that's because Windows comes along and cleans out its temp directory, some of which Finale needs. In Simple entry, enter the first quarter note, then press Option+9. Select four quarters in the space of 3 quarters and click OK. Finale will then create the triplet padded out with quarter rests. Replace the rests with your notes.

That can happen if you change the page layout with the Page Format tool on your existing pages but don't reflect the changes in Document/Page Format. Yes, Ctrl+click to start playback bypasses Human Playback.

One of the choices is "all pages of current part/score," so as long as you do it from the score you should be OK. Check to make sure before saving, though!

After changing the page format you need to go to the Page Layout tool and do "Redefine Pages."

mmike's advice is exactly right. I think if you uncheck Use Filter it will not copy the initial clef correctly.

As Peter says, Speedy entry can handle nested tupets, but Simple entry can't do it as well. When you were having trouble with the Expression dialog, did you drag the bottom of the window to enlarge it? That should have updated those numbers in finale.ini. Try doing that now--make the window a little bigger or a little smaller, and see if it sticks.

I didn't realize you were running Finale 26. Looks to me like you haven't installed the update to Finale 27.

While you're at it, note the modification times of finale.ini, before and after.
