Anyone got this and tried it with Finale?
Needing something a bit better than Garritan...I have Vienna instruments etc but thought the BBC library may be quicker to use?

Re: HELP instruments playing back an octave too high
In Bar 62 you had an Expression used for the Bass Cue playback set for playback an Octave higher (12 steps). However, you failed to cancel that Octave higher with a matching Expression to return transposition to 0 (zero). So, from then on, all instruments on those staves are still playing an octave...

Re: HELP instruments playing back an octave too high
Hi Zuill File link here. The orchestra entry is pg 6 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7zvga5d3jaljmqn/Igbo%20bath%20%282%29.musx?dl=0 Interesting as it defaulted all the instruments to Garritan when I played it back on normal PC as opposed to DAW pc (as I don't have all the VSL synths that are on DAW) and ...

Re: HELP instruments playing back an octave too high
Possibly some stray MIDI data got applied to those staves. You can look in the MIDI Tool and see if there might be some Pitch Wheel data, or something similar that got entered by mistake. Save the file with a different name, delete everything, then try reentering notes and see if they play back oka...

Re: HELP instruments playing back an octave too high
I have noticed and seen random notes going an octave or even higher but never the entire part or score. I have also seen a random drum hit especially when I use ctrl+spacebar to sample part sound. I have no idea why this happens or how to stop it. Sorry. BTW, very randomly Speedy Entry will enter a...

HELP instruments playing back an octave too high
Suddenly started doing this after clicked the 'display in concert pitch' to show transposing instruments not in concert (if that makes sense). All transpositions correct - am not using keyless score just have it set to Am, tried putting in keyless and makes no difference.so don't know if its a known...

showing staff in part, not in score SOLVED
I hope I can explain this clearly, here goes: * Have a score, which for a page or two only has two instruments (have used hide empty staves for rest of orchestra) * I'd like to give the other instruments the last 8 bars as a cue in their parts * when I do this, the hidden staves for the other instru...

Re: independent repeat markings?
Yes, that is what I was trying to do.Peter Thomsen wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 4:15 pmTake a look at the attached demo.
Do you mean something like this?
StaggeredRepeatBars2014.musx
Now using a different solution: using brackets over rhythms/notes with instruction to repeat notes under bracket til cued.

independent repeat markings?
By this I mean is it possible to have repeats at different places for each part? I'm trying to work out the best way to notate 7 different repeating rhythms that all start at slightly different places in different parts. They repeat until cued by the conductor. I suppose I could do it graphically by...

Hi jmus! Gee, your xerox printer sounded heavy! I was going to buy the Fuji Xerox 4405D for my print-music manufacturing business. After considerable reflection, however, I realised I wanted my print-music manufacturing business to be a lot more mobile. So, I now plan to focus simply on producing P...

how do I get Finale to 'see' vienna ensemble?
I've managed to get it to see Kontact by managing vst plug in directories, but am obviously not directing it to the correct Vienna symphonic library bit. I know it needs to be 64bit one, have tried but its still not seeing it! Anyone else got the Vienna ensemble - not the pro - the standard ensemble...

Re: parts not showing in printing window!
Yup, Motet you are right. the article states that a windows update caused the 'print to Microsoft Pdf' is set to default printer and won't work unless you set another printer as default. You can then use the Microsoft printer from print window, but you would have to do this every time you want to pr...

Thanks

Re: page numbers in parts when offset
It is an inadequacy. You could temporary change the offset as you print each part or save it to PDF. What I do instead is turn off the Finale page numbers, combine the movements of in a PDF file for each part, and add the page numbers there with PDF software. Yes, I had been doing the PDF thing but...

Re: A3 printer
Hi all, Thinking about buying a mono A3 laser printer (for printing Finale scores). I have found one with a resolution of 1200 x 1200. Is that a satisfactory resolution for printing music like orchestral scores, etc... Should I look no further with regard to resolution? Cheers and thanks, Hector. W...

page numbers in parts when offset
So I have 3 movements in different files. This means I've offset the page numbers for 2nd and 3rd movements. Trouble is the parts are now showing incorrect numbering (as they obviously have less pages than the score). How do I get round this? I know I could merge the files, but wondering if there is...

Re: which music spacing library?
I use tight spacing exclusively and don't find it too tight. Another thing you can do is set Minimum Measure Width to 0; otherwise it makes empty bars too wide. In any case, you can play around with the settings--you're not restricted to what's in the libraries. Thanks for the tip re minimum measur...

which music spacing library?
Experimenting with these. I'm finding the default is far too loose and performers are asking for more 'notes on a page'!
Anyone got tried and tested favourites? Just tried the tight spacing, but maybe this is a little too tight?
