Thanks, and sorry for being vague. I use simply entry. I use the mouse with my right. I have a desktop computer with number pad, but I am left-handed, and using the regular numbers is easier; however, either would be fine if I could access that feature. The reason avoiding the number pad would be be...

speed entry on Finale 2002 v. 2007
I loved Finale 2002 because I could use the number keys to indicate note values (4=eighth note, 5= quarter note, etc.) as I entered the notes. I got really fast at it and it cut my work time way down. Also, there were various other shortcuts, such as using letters for entering rests, sharps and flat...

Thanks, Ian, with your help I was able to separate the notes. However, even after turning off the "group four 1/8 notes" option, it still does it, and i have to change the notes after entering them. I wish it would just stop connecting subsequent notesw to the tuplet after it has been disengaged.......

How do I seperate tuplets from other notes?
On a part where I have tuplets (this is Finale 2007 on a PC with Windows XP), when I enter eighth note tuplets, the next eighth notes I add (after shutting off the tuplet function) are connected to the tuplets....how do I stop this from happening? It is musically correct but confusing to read. thanks!

Thanks, everyone, for all the feedback, but what I did is reinstall Adobe Acrobat, and the Acrobat Distiller reappeared, allowing me to convert easily to PDF's. Problem solved. I wish my other issues were solved....I don't understand a forum where 80-90 people view a problem and no one can help...Bu...

How do I change trumpet parts to trombone parts?
I have Finale 2005. I want to transpose a set of trumpet parts to trombone for a sub in our band. What is the easiest way to do this? (I know how to spend a half hour on each chart, but hopefully someone has an easier way.)

should I upgrade to Finale 2007?
Ok, here's my situation. I used to use Finale 2002, which I liked. Recently, I started using Finale 2005, which I was given as a gift. It has been a pain to learn to use the different entry system, but that's another story...the biggest problem has been that older charts I created with finale 2002, ...

Thanks for responding. Of course I understand they wouldn't change it to make it worse...but their idea of an "improvement" doesn't necessarily jibe with the average user's...in my case, I loved being able to set note values as well as sharps, flats, etc, with my left hand using the computer keyboar...

Why was note entry changed for 2004?
I hope this isn't an inflammatory question, or a stupid question, and I know I'm wya behind the times,....but...I used 2003 for a long time, then recently acquired 2005...the note entry is really different. Why? It took quite awhile for me to acquire speed and consistency on 2003, and now I find wit...
