Re: Hoped this bug was fixed...it isn't
Why don't you get a metronome? I know it's not the same, but surely you can "hear" your own composition as you try differing tempos suggested by the click of the metronome. Seems even faster than the method which used to work.

Re: Finale 25.5 Plug-ins Peculiarity
The JW Change plugin will clear lyric positioning. The plugin sidebar lists the utility under "Syllables", not Lyrics.

Re: Finale 25.5 Plug-ins Peculiarity
Some plugins only work on the "score", not on the linked parts. Could this be what's happening?

Same way you get to and change any font in any other program. It's in the font drop-down menu.musicus wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 5:17 pmI know that. Re: Can Smart Shapes be assigned to layers?
Normally, a Flute 1/2 score stave is handled by entering both parts as "chords" in a single layer and only using a second layer when the rhythms don't match. There will then be only one set of dynamics, below the staff as usual. Splitting into layers as you're doing with each layer having its own dy...

Re: All Measures Same Width
Go to Document Menu > Document Options > Music Spacing and hit the Spacing Widths button. Under Scaling Factor, type "2". Respace all measures (type "4"). With all measures selected, hit "Return" and type "2" under "Width: Change To". All measures are now the same width - how does that look? There m...

Re: last breath
One particular problem I've been having with F27.3 seems to be screen redrawing/update layout related. Click on a measure and press the up or down arrow key to move it up or down a system. It usually works as expected but let's say 1 time out of 10 nothing happens. Press the arrow once or twice agai...

Is it really necessary to indicate the cues when the principal part is already playing? As long as the tempo remains steady, I see little good in adding unneeded information.

Re: Graphics disappear in Finale 27
Just thinking out loud- √ What format are your graphics in? Try saving them as jpg and see just for fun if you can embed all of them. I know you probably don't want to use jpg. √ I have used TIFF files for small footnote examples (1200 dpi) and they look pretty darn good. Maybe you'll have better lu...

Go to the Score Manager, click on the BD staff, go to Notation Style - Percussion, click on Settings and change the staff position of the notes for the BD percussion map.

Just so you know, I used F25 and F26 extensively with good results. Been using F27 since the 1st of the year, also happy with that. I don't use playback, just engraving and page layout. Of course, all 3 versions have the same engineering problems which you're probably used to stepping around.

Re: Applying a Template to an existing file
You can save a Document Options library (File menu) from your current template and import that into older files. That will take care of a limited number of settings - things like line weights, slur and tie contours and placement settings for accidentals and the like. But it will not affect page layo...

Re: resizing noteheads
Before running the plugin, highlight only the measures that have noteheads you want to enlarge. You'll have to do it a number of times, skipping over the cued passages.
I wouldn't enlarge the noteheads - there's no reason to.

Re: When Ties over a system break
In Document Options > Ties, make sure the Positioning settings all have the same amount for the vertical position. In the Finale default file, it is 6evpu for over ties and -6evpu for under ties.

That applies to Shape Expressions. Applied with a Meta Tool, it is a copy of the original and can be edited without changing any others of the same.

I'd do something like the following: Screen Shot 2023-06-06 at 6.53.10 AM.jpg There is also a moment where I do need to use the change instrument feature, but is there a way to do this without changing the staff and abbreviated staff name? You need to rebeam manually. Put the cursor on the rightmost note and press / (slash). Repeat as necessary.
