An explanation doesn't come to mind, but maybe try experimenting with a higher screen resolution setting in your monitor settings, perhaps? Just a thought...

Thanks for this advice. I've adjusted the category and am back in action. Normally, I put the dynamics above the staff for vocals, but on this occasion the score is entirely "a bocca chiusa" and when I had a quick look at how Puccini notated it, sure enough he puts the dynamics below. I set up a vocal score in the wizard which automatically puts the dynamics above the vocal stave.

Where should I look to revert that option so that dynamics will automatically go under the staff as per a normal instrument?

Hi Capricorn, I don't have an authoritative answer, but... Check if the USB ports on the computer and the midi interface are dust free. (Mine have been known to clog up).
