Re: Capo chords; no sharps

dankreider & MikeHalloran, thank you for your input dankreider, I'll try that out to MikeHalloran, about Your real problem is that, in the key of F, Gbm is the correct name for that chord, not F#m I see it as follows: when we transpose from F to E all chords will change names: F will become E, G wi...

Capo at fret 1, so all chords should be a half tone lower Result E, A, Gbm I am not pleased with that Gbm, it should be F#m QUESTION 1: How can I get F# immediately: did I miss a setting?...

Re: Is it possible to have Finale PrintMusic 2014 plugins?

If you have a license for 2014, you should check out 2014.5. There were many updates and fixes. Both will install onto the same machine (Mac and Windows) and use the same license. As you have been shown, the icons are slightly different—this confuses many users. Find and place both icon shortcuts wh...

Re: OT: Musical symbols for use in MS Word 2010

Yea... Word 2010 is Windows. The suggestion to enter all of the characters you use most often in another Word doc is clumsy at best—when you paste, it may retain your document font. A better way is to create a .pdf showing the character in both Times New Roman and the music font you will use. Now, w...

Re: Using GPO 5 in the Finale 2014.5 demo

The Finale demo does not download the Aria engine nor Garritan instruments for Finale. The purchased version does.

Since you have GPO 5, you have to find the Aria engine and call Garritan from there. This is covered in the Help files.

Re: Extraneous markings in scan

With SmartScore Lite, it is often easier to edit after you have opened it in Finale. I, too, recommend SmartScore X2 Pro. As Mike has mentioned, Finale owners can purchase it for half price whether your version had SS Lite or not (25.x). Besides the ability to edit, X2 Pro has a much better scanning...

Must be a Windows thing. I have never experienced these problems on my Macs.

Different problems? Oh yes...

Got here last night.

The official site is as useless as the manual. Of wait, there hasn't been a manual since 2012.

It did that for a couple of days.

It's now locked and no one can post so it's not an issue anymore.

Actually, it's older versions of Finale in newer Mac OS.

Finale 2014.5 and 25 do not have a problem with Human Playback in OS 10.10 or later.

Re: Which is it?

I played string bass in concert bands off and on for decades. If there was no double bass part, I'd be assigned the Eb contra-bass clarinette part if there was none—I liked that since I only had to transpose the key signature unlike tuba or Bb contrabass where there was more transposition. I have ne...
