Re: Orchestrating Purely Digital Elements: Needed in Score?
I'd suggest you leave the digital stuff out and just make a score and parts for the live musicians, as long as your client seems to be OK with that. I'm assuming the live musicians are being recorded separately from the digital tracks. Are they listening to the digital tracks on headphones? I do a b...

Re: Split a measure with double bar
Does this picture help? The plugin works just fine; the Measure Tool changes the barline style just fine.

Re: Split a measure with double bar
With the Measure Tool, double click on the measure that has the dashed barline and pick the double bar from the menu.

Use the Split Measure plugin (Plugins > Measures) and then use the Measure Tool to add the double bar.

Re: Open letter to Development Team
mil78, I'd suggest if you don't already, follow this group regularly. Some of your concerns have been addressed already (Preferences, slurs flying high off the notes, etc.). The Finale experience here goes very deep - many of us make a living using Finale and have come to terms with its shortcomings...

Re: Barre brace shape in chord diagram
It doesn't appear that the Barre bracket is available in a default document (Why I don't know). The Help files for both Finale 2012 and 25 both refer to "creating your own shape". Here is a page from the Finale 25 manual - you should have a corresponding page in your 2007 manual. https://usermanuals...

I'd very much like to see your letter. Do we know what it takes for a new member to be allowed to post? A period of time? A certain number of posts?

Re: "Space staves evenly"?
I'm using Excel, so I can post that if anyone's interested. I'd be interested, but I'm not sure I would ever abandon my system as described above. Most of my scores have differing stave spacing on each page, depending on the density or looseness of vertical space. Using a scaling percentage assures...

Re: "Space staves evenly"?
I do this all the time. Instead of a measurement, I use the percentage scaling (Space above each selected staff > Scale to XX%).
Just pick a percentage above 100% and hit OK. Repeat if necessary, scaling back the percentage as you near the finish point.

Re: beams across rests
Check to see how your time signature is set up for the 6/8 measures. In the dialog, it should not be "6 - eighth notes" but "2 - dotted quarters". Then you'll get the beaming you want.

You're using a "Keyless" key signature in your target file at the second key change. Just a wild guess but that might be the problem.

Re: FINALE 2014 REPEAT SIGN BUG
I haven't the faintest idea of what you or the original poster want to accomplish. However, if you want to make an expression position itself without having to tweak each and every one, go to the Expression Designer and hit the "Positioning" tab. The thick barline is already set to center itself on ...

Re: Finale 25 - what exactly is different from the previous?
You say you "liked" Finale 2014.5. If that version worked well for you, why aren't you using it? Just because you own version 25, doesn't mean you have to put up with the kind of substandard performance you describe.

Re: Rebar 4/4>3/4 to 3/4>4/4
It's my guess that the ones that are not still available are the older ones whose features were rolled into a later, more comprehensive version. For instance, Staff Polyphony greatly enlarged the features of 1 or 2 smaller plugins.motet wrote:Which are not?

Re: Tabloid to Letter Size
I have a tabloid score and set the page size to letter size (Page Layout Tool). Then, used the Resize Tool to resize the pages to about 60%. It looked OK but the staves and notation were teeny tiny. This was a score for large orchestra - if your score has fewer staves, such a resizing might work out...
