Extracting parts and generating linked parts are different animals. Generate parts is under Document > Manage Parts. I believe most users prefer linked parts these days except in special circumstances.

Re: Export/import XML?
I always thought -- and maybe I made this up -- that by making the XML round trip some things get stripped out of the file which could include the problem that prevents saving.

Re: Unison voices
Yet another solution uses Simple Entry. Enter the first whole note then type 1 to create an interval at the unison.

Re: Original Clefs Courtesy
I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you are looking at a way to separate the clefs from the beginning of the piece, you might look at "incipit" in the manual.

Re: staff names
In the Score Manager you'll see that the instrument is Piano (no staff name). Change it to Piano. You might have to hide the names in brackets.

This doesn't exactly answer your question, but you can make a staff style that shows chords but not fretboards.

Re: Notehead size not matching other files
Mark,
On "Pacific Dances" if you use Edit > Clear Selected Items > Special Alterations > Notehead … Alterations, that reduces the notehead size. See if that is what you want.

Re: repeating measures
On the Mac, you do Shift-Option-Click. That brings up the Edit Filter and allows you to paste the highlighted measures. The key command might be different for you, but try something like Shift-Option-Click.

I'm not sure this would work, but try Document > Data Check > Font Utilities.

Mark,
Can you go to a backup and fix it from there?
Lyrics messes can be a real headache.

Re: Struggling with „easy tremolo“ nested into a tuplet.
In 2-note tremolos each note takes the full value of the tremolo. So notate your rest and two 8th notes, turn them into a triplet, and apply the tremolo plug-in and you will see the magic.

Erik,
No help, but moving the 3 is instant for me. I also created a bracket and that moved instantly as well. Hopefully someone else will chime in who has dealt with your problem.

It doesn't happen for me with 27 either. Could you post a sample that demonstrates your problem?

I don't experience that problem in 26. I will try on 27 on my other computer.
Does this happen on every instance, or just occasionally?

Re: using "a piacere"......or......?
Rather than trying to say just the right thing in Italian, my choice would be to put an asterisk on the first flute note and a footnote at the bottom of the page that says basically what you wrote in your original post.

Flip all accidentals
Is there a way to select a range of measures and flip all accidentals from sharp to flat or reverse? I know that it can be done on a limited basis in Speedy and in Note Mover. I expected I could find an answer in JW Change but I don't see it.
