I uninstalled the program, them did a reinstall. No change the problem is still there.

I checked both Items and the problem is still there. I guess I'll keeping playing around until I find something or maybe do a reinstall or is there a reset option.

It is all on one staff

I have a staff 2/4 timing with 1/8 note rest, 2 64 note 32 note rest, 2 64 note 32 note rest, 2 64 note 32 note rest, 2 64 note 32 note rest. According to the sheet that I have there should be room for a quarter note rest, but Finale won't let me put one in. Nor well it put one in when I click on th...

Just for your information. i went with 17 64's in the place of 2 8's. 4 times all on the G clef. Since this is for my eyes only I did not try to hide or make it look like the sheet music that I have.

If I understand you correctly, I write all the notes pertaining to the black keys. Then make then all invisible, is that correct.

Question 1. What note value do I use.

I added some instruments today. As you can see The last violin that I added is in some kind of shaded part. I can add any notes in this area. Why? What happen?

I do not understand. First off I am not a musician. I do not play any instrument. But I do like putting music in Finale, and then modifying it to my taste.

We all know The saying "Use it or Lose it." Well that is what happen to me. I made the mistake of staying away too long. I remember a lot but I forgot a lot. Is there Book that well teach me how to use Finale. The only one I found was for Finale 2014.

How do I play the G staff or Treble staff louder then F staff or Bass staff?

I finally got the scanner working. Here is a pic of the sheet;
The timing is 4/4 this is in place of a quarter note.

Something like that. I have 2 32nd notes fellow by 4 16th notes all link under a tuple with a number 3 above it.
