Re: Cautionary Time Signature in 1st Ending
you can add an extra measure into the first ending, set the time signature to 12/8 for this measure. add a notesystem style "empty lines" and open the settings for the measure to set the width to zero. Update layout...

Re: How do you add a Tacet to the end of a part?
Hi Scott, you can edit the multimeasure rest and there is a setting, where you can enter a number with that you want to start the counting. (Sorry for my english, I have a german version. Hope you will find it...) In your case you should enter a number higher than 12... Then enter "tacet" as text. B...

What I would do first - before the operation above: Fix the measures in your layout by selecting all (Ctrl + A) and then clicking "L" (for "lock"). Otherwise it could happen that finale moves measures...

Re: No beams on notes for singers in musicals
Hi Michael,
two ways:
- when you enter the singers parts uncheck "control beams" (or so, I have the German version Fin 2009) in the speedy entry menu.
- you can change the beaming of existing music in extras/new beams, use beams for text...
Hope you can find it.

Re: Non-ternary 9/8
Why don't you set your time signature to 3/4 + 3/8 then? This would be much easier and faster to read for the musicians. Much better than the explaination above the system...Alvabass wrote:Exactly. And the second option fits what I'm thinking of the best. Thank you very much!

I think that "Englisches Horn" is very oldfashioned and not in use anymore.
We in Vienna call it "Englischhorn" and often use the abbreviation "Eh."

Hi David,
yes it is correct, the ß is still in use in Germany and Austria, I think they do not use it anymore in Switzerland. The correct spelling is Zeitmaß, Mäßig

It's the 2nd corno di bassetto part from Mozart's Gran Partita - Adagio. Most probably will be beat in 8. I'm tasked with transposing the parts for alto clarinet as we're lacking corni di bassetto players in deepest rural Lincolnshire! Andreo Basisto In that case I would have a look at the other pa...

Re: building a triplet combining 3 triplets
Jon, it's not as complicated as ist seems... 2 ways for your example (your "big" triplet is 3 8th:2 8th) - Speedy entry: Enter "Ctrl+3" (for a triple) and 4 (!) for an 8th note to define the big triplet - "Ctrl+3" and 3 times "2" for the first 32nd triplet - go back to the 8th note and change it to ...

Create staff styles where the abbreviation for the staff is the whole name of the instrument (you will have to do it for each instrument).
