It's customary on Unisons to have one Inst ( usually the 2nd Player) play a little softer, for blend and tone quality. Maybe you can mark one note lower with a Dynamic Expression while the Unison occurs, then back to whatever it was. Or maybe there is a Musical way around having temporary, inadervta...

Can you select a different Dac/Output Device under "Device Set-Up/Audio-Midi" ?
That would divert Finale.

I usually just delete Expressions/Tempo Marks when it becomes unresponsive and puts out the same Tempo no matter the marking.

Put your Swing Expression in the Bar the Swing starts, not the Beginning of the piece.

Dim is a small circle.
There are some odd suffixes in Pop music.
2 notes, and Interval, is called a "Diad."

You may not like the way Finale "Voices" Chord Symbols, esp if there are added notes or Chord Extentions.
You might better off musically if you make a separate staff for your own voicings.

It sounds fine to me with Audio Units.
I had to select Marimba from the Score Manager, but with or without Standard HP, it's fine here, F 25/Mac.

I seem to remember that it can be done in the Midi Tool.
There are numbers that represent the length of the notes. Entering a smaller value would shorten them slightly to make the spaces you want.

Unmarked notes are played full value.
If you want spaces, try something like Marcato,
or use the line-dot Articulation.

With Play through MIDI selected, the first Inst in comes in 2 bars late,
and the File won't Export at all.
With Audio Units selected, it plays and exports fine.
Why should that make any difference?

True, but he didn't want it. And it's for Playback only. I don't get it. If I want it, I'll write it in. I play Jazz and have written many tunes and arrangements. Never encountered playing notes ahead or behind the beat without some form of Notation or Instructions. Having it happen on Playback only...

It only affects Playback.
If I wanted notes before or after the beat, I'd notate it that way.
Why have an Effect that's Playback Only, and not written in to the Score?

I get that message once in a while.
