Re: from snare drum to glockenspiel
The attached file goes from Snare to Glockenspiel and back. Snare to Glock and Back.musx Since it's hard to tell from your original post what the real problem is, it's hard to know how to suggest a solution. Maybe you can attach your file. Zuill P.S.: I forgot about the Glock Trill. Generally, that ...

Re: Problem with tied notes (chords)
In Simple, if you use the mouse to click the ties in, then pressing anywhere above or below the chord, or in between notes, ties all the notes, but clicking on a specific note ties just that note.

Re: eighth note rest will NOT erase
The extra rest is actually in layer 3. Go to Layer 3 and then you can delete that extra rest. Zuill P.S.: After further investigation, there was more to it than just the Layer 3 rests. Here's the revised file. Lament for the Wild Geese score Revised.musx P.P.S.: The attached picture shows what's wro...

Re: Problem with tied notes (chords)
If you're doing this in simple entry, where you have the cursor makes all the difference. Put it on all three notes and all three tie. On just one note, and only one note ties.

Re: Left barline
Recalling past situations, another approach is to not have Left Barlines (as selected in Document Options). Then, add a second group with the bracket on the far right of the choices. Make the Horizontal position 0. This group only includes the lower staves. Don't include the staff for the snaps. I a...

We might need to see a sample file to test. I can't seem to duplicate the result you are getting, probably because I am not using the same method.

These choices are document specific. It appears that in some of your documents, it was never created, or was deleted. You can create it if needed. Do you know how to do that?

Re: Chord Tool
For the Cb issue, usually just unchecking Simplify Spelling in the Chord Tool menu is all that is needed. I only need to use the workaround in rare situations (sometimes with capo chords, for example).

Re: Issue with Finale and Realtek
I assume the Realtek is the built-in sound (built-in to the motherboard). I have not used a laptop, as both of my Finale installations are on desktop computers. The reason I have avoided Windows 10 is because I have heard of many issues with its interface with Finale. Both of my desktops are running...

Re: Issue with Finale and Realtek
Short of reinstalling Finale, deleting the Finale midi preferences file, and maybe the Finale preferences file, might be another test. After relaunching Finale, you'll need to re-enter your settings, but then you'll know one way or another if it works or not.

Re: Issue with Finale and Realtek
Go into the Realtek HD Audio Manager and make sure the Sample Rate matches the chosen Sample Rate in Finale. I use Windows 7. I recall on another laptop (not mine) there being some issues with the Realtek driver. The generic Windows driver worked much better. You then don't have the Audio manager, w...

Re: Issue with Finale and Realtek
You have to have the driver from the motherboard maker (I guess that might be Dell), not from Realtek. And for sure, don't use ASIO with Finale.

Extracting a part uses the name assigned to the Linked Part. Make sure the Linked part has the correct name.
As far as the name changing problem, without seeing a file, I wouldn't be able to say.

Re: converting 16th to triplets
I believe Finale is basing the timing of the second section on the first measure of that section. Since the tempo mark is set to kick in at the alignment point, Finale thinks it is still being calculated for the prior section's tempo. Change the assignment to beginning of Measure and recheck the ela...

Re: slur tool
Yes--clear the top staff of measure 40 and start over. The whole notes in layers 2 and 3 shouldn't be there. To create the tremolo, enter the two notes as dotted quarters , then apply the plug-in. You say dotted quarters, but the bar is actually 4/4. I wonder what that's all about? This file has so...

It looks like the plugin was already used. The right half of the tremolo is in Bar 48.motet wrote:Yes--clear the top staff of measure 40 and start over. The whole notes in layers 2 and 3 shouldn't be there. To create the tremolo, enter the two notes as dotted quarters, then apply the plug-in.

Re: Finale support
In Windows, at least, issues with saving files can often be eliminated by creating a separate folder for the tmp files (not bak or asv files). Once the unique folder is created, point to that folder in Preferences. Then, often, with Finale CLOSED, clean out this folder, as old tmp file can cause con...
