Well, the recent versions are pretty much the same. When exporting, there's a window that asks for how you want it exported. Choose to export to separate tracks. It will still be one file, but when opening in a DAW, the tracks will be separate.

When creating a tempo alteration, you can choose to uncheck the option to use the category fonts, thus allowing you to use whatever font you want.

Without seeing the file, it's hard to say. There are HP settings that cause things like this. You might try adjusting some of the settings there. If turning off HP eliminates the problem, then that is where you would need to work.

Just be aware: if you are using HP, the file lengths my vary. If so, you will have trouble syncing them up. If that happens, start over and either 1) Turn off HP, or 2) Hardwire the HP data, turn HP off, then export.

I do what Mike had suggested. I slur the notes that should be. I then dash the slur that is an edit, or optional. To me, if I saw a slur change half way, I would probably start laughing and shaking my head, and, as in the cartoons, a large ? would appear over my head.
