Speedy entry tool - consecutive entries problem
Greetings all. Often, after I make an entry in a measure while using the Speedy Entry Tool, if I then exit the measure, then immediately try to re-enter the same bar, it takes me several mouse clicks (7-10?) before the measure stays highlighted. This only started when I updated to my current version...

Re: Finale file's margins change when saved as PDF
All Finale scores. And both times it has happened, I'd made no change in settings (that I was aware of, anyway). I should mention that I've tried adjusting some of the printing options, like "Fit to page", and "Ignore printer margins for n-up printing".

Finale file's margins change when saved as PDF
Hello all, a while back I posted about a problem I was having where my file margins were being changed when I saved a file as a PDF using the Print pulldown menu's "PDF" option. This problem was cutting of the tops of my pages (see attachment). It was suggested here that I use Finale's Export Pages ...

Re: No scroll bar in playback
Hi Miker, you know, that is the first place I looked, and didn't see anything. However, rather than simply posting that back to you, based on your reply, I figured I must have missed something (pilot error is always my first suspicion, heh), and in double checking, I saw that I'd missed the little e...

Re: No scroll bar in playback
Thanks for your reply. Sorry, I was remiss in stating that I've tried closing the file, Finale, and restarting my computer. I'm hoping to find a bona fide option for viewing and hiding the scroll bar, if there is one.

No scroll bar in playback
Greetings all, every once and a while, during playback, the scroll bar doesn't appear (see screenshot, taken during playback). Does anyone know how to re-activate it? It still shows on other pieces, so it isn't a universal problem. Just started happening, so haven't been able to track any patterns. ...

Happily, I am still having great success with the larger buffering rate.

Re: AIFF files still corrupted
Hi David, I was unaware of the Buffer Size/Sample Rate options. My Sample Rate was on the lowest setting, but my Buffer Size was two levels under the max, so I increased it, and have tested it on a couple of different pieces. So far so good! Thank you so much for the suggestion!

AIFF files still corrupted
Greetings all, I'm still experiencing a problem previously posted, namely, that *sometimes* my AIFF files come out with static and/or pops and cracks. And the results are still annoyingly inconsistent, that is to say, that sometimes the files come out crystal clear, even though, in such cases, all I...

Re: Corrupted AIFF files
Hi, Oldmkvi, I appreciate your input. I tried the WAV format, but iTunes wouldn't read it. I did find a program on my iMac which was able to play the WAV file, but unfortunately, it had the same "static" problem as the AIFF file, so I couldn't proceed with the Mp3 conversion. Happily, after a few mo...

Corrupted AIFF files
Well, one problem solved, only to be replaced by another...while some of my newly created AIFF files exporting just fine, a couple of them have scattered moments of a kind of static sound to them (almost like a scratchy LP) when opened in iTunes. The weird thing is, that when I delete the corrupted ...

Thank you for all your replies. Oldmkvi, where is the Custom/highest quality option to which you referred, and at which part of the process is it?

Converting to Mp3 format
Hi everyone, I'd appreciate help with the best method for converting Finale scores to an Mp3 format. It seems to me that with earlier versions of Finale, one could convert directly to it, but now there are only two options, WAV and AIFF. I'm using iTunes on an iMac. I'm wondering if there's a good 3...

Re: Human playback inconsistent pt.2
Hi Djard, Upon the recommendation of another poster, I've been using the Garritan Concert D Grand Piano, and have found it a good fit for my music. It's nice that in this day and age, one has multiple choices available. I failed to mention that the exclusive purpose of my audio files is to produce M...

Re: Human playback inconsistent pt.2
Djard, thanks for your input, and for doing the testing. It's helpful to know that you were able to duplicate a failure, and that my problem isn't due exclusive to my own efforts, ha-ha. I'll turn on the Ambience option and play around with the settings. I'm wondering--did you have it on for the Ste...

Thank you for your response. Can you please tell what each of the four knobs actually do? I'm not familiar with all of the abbreviations and the effect they have.

Re: Human playback inconsistent pt.2
Here's something interesting that I just did...I had a < > marking for which I found the peak too loud. If I entered an actual dynamic in the middle, the hairpins stopped working. I tried a variety of other things I won't bother to list, but the method that actually softened the peak just a bit, was...

Re: Human playback inconsistent pt.2
Oldmkvi, I'm using the following: Equalizer; default settings, Convolution; small chamber space; Ambience; off; Instrument control; on, with default settings (have played around with the dials there, but they haven't seemed to have made a difference). I'm using these settings because they were recom...

Re: Human playback inconsistent pt.2
Djard, thank you for your response. Those are good suggestions. Unfortunately, I have already double checked to make sure the expressions were attached to the right areas, and I don't believe I'm using any plug-ins. I will try using pp<ff, but I think I've already played around with that. And yes us...

Hairpin cresc. playback inconsistent
Hello all. Yes, I'm back, with yet another question about Human Playback inconsistency, this time, regarding the hairpin cresc./decresc. markings. Despite having the HP "Hairpin and dynamics" box checked in HP, and "Hairpin emphasis" and "Auto expression emphasis" in Preferences at 75% (I also tried...

Re: Human playback inconsistent pt.2
Thanks for your response. I'm not sure what you mean by "default document", but I think the file I attached would qualify as one, as I created it brand new for my test. Also, I haven't edited my library, so this problem is still baffling me. The fact that it sometimes works is strange to me, as one ...

Brilliant! Just did a quick test, seems to do the trick. Thanks so much!
And speaking of thanks, thanks again to all who have given me advice in the past. My pieces have come a long way, thanks to you all!
