Re: Clicking on a chord symbol inside a measure often selects the measure
Click the Chord Symbol - the Measure highlights. Click again in the exact same spot and the Chord Symbol should highlight.

Re: extending beams over rests for selection only
Of course, I have no way of knowing the context in which you want to use this beaming. But as far as I know, beaming over rests is a style usually used throughout an engraving. I would be concerned that there might be some confusion introduced for players that get into "beam over rests mode" and sud...

Re: page and measure numbers
Just a suggestion- In the very first measure, you have staccato dotted quarters written. This will lead to confusion on how long the notes really are - there is really no such thing as a staccato dotted quarter note. If you want just a bit of separation between notes, write a quarter and an eighth r...

When you set the Edit Filter to copy, make sure you include the MIDI information in items to copy.

Re: formatting problem
The attached file has the quick page turn fixed.
What happens when they try to print the odd size A4 on a printer that has only letter size paper?

Re: formatting problem
Is the attached what you want? I redefined all pages and deleted the blank page (page 4).
The page size is A4 - A3 is not suitable for parts, it's too big. Why are you using these European page sizes? Do you live there or are you doing this music for someone there?

Re: Can't find fall-off symbol
The Broadway Copyist articulation library has several fall symbols. The first shown below is a quick fall, followed by a longer fall, followed by a fallish kind of stroke. Perhaps just load the library into the file you're working on.

I would go to the Edit Menu > Multimeasure Rests > Create for Parts/Score (check all parts).

Re: Score layout: aligning bottom systems on pages 1 & 2 (and beyond)
I would break all of the barlines between staves and at the end of the system (except the Piano). Helps clarify the layout.

I'm guessing the original problem has been solved, probably by a computer reboot.

Re: Accidentals changes lost with upgrade to v27
Are you talking about manually entered courtesy accidentals? Attach a small sample file that contains a few disappearing accidentals along with a screenshot so we can see what it's supposed to look like. Maybe someone can run down the problem for you.

You could have copied just the content you wanted and pasted that into a freshly made blank Finale file.

Re: overlapping
I've been involved in the educational music field (school band, jazz and orchestra) for almost 40 years. Most of my notational preferences have been very much influenced by my publisher clients and their music editors. Of course, most of these publisher preferences have been designed with young musi...

Go to the Score Manager, click on the Clarinet Staff and change the transposition popup (lower right) to read "Bb up a M2nd". That's all you do - hands off the Key Signature tool.

Re: overlapping
If you would notate this measure correctly, there would be no overlapping and the rhythms would be clearer. In general, double dotting notes should be avoided except when necessary - for example a double dotted eighth followed by a 32nd.

Re: printer message
Who told you that? B4 is a size used primarily in Britain and Europe. It measures about 10x14. In the US, 9x12 or better yet 9 1/2x12 1/2 is used by/for professional copyists and performing groups.I know that B4 is recommended for part size.
Stick with letter size.

Re: printer message
The problem here is that the actual page size of the Finale file is B4, which is approximately 11x14. Change that to letter size.
